SO I didn't even realize that this was being released this week. Anyone have any thoughts. I personally might buy one if enough people I know get one. They are only $40. I mean what can I say, i just follow the trends instead of set them.

I think its silly, unnecessary, and only going to bring out the worst in the prick teen crowd on XBL (dick bombs, etc). I think its a horrible idea and I won't be buying one.

The thing about it is that after awhile the jackass crowd will have gotten themselves dinged via account feedback and it, in theory, will go away after awhile. I'm holding off for now, but I fully expect to see camera-specific account feedback options. Not sure if I see your point about not having one helping avoid the idiots -- in UNO, it'll be their gamerpic anyhow. Just be anal about feedback and muting obnoxions. (heh, heh - he said anal - heh, heh).

I'm curious how the camera is going to be integrated into future game experiences. The poker game coming out this week, for example, has a cool feature that allows you to import your face into the game using the camera. Not that I'm interested in another poker game, but this sort of idea has promise.

Maybe its cuz I am older, but I don't feel the need to share my face with the rest of the XBL community.

Oh, I fully agree on this point, though if the integration into games is good, it might be worthwhile. I can also see the videophone usefullness - I already tend to talk more over XBL with my cousins in PA than I do over the phone.

+1. I don't think you need to share your face with the rest of us either On the plus side, only people on your friends list can dick bomb you without warning (so you should be safe ). If it's a non friend it shows up as a message and you can just delete it.

Until there are games that utilize the camera for gameplay (not just getting my face stretched onto a character or in a window), I'm out.

I think as far as taking a picture of yourself for your gamer picture, I think it will only be viewable to your friends in the same manner that you have two gamer pictures to assign now. That will help you avoid some of the asshats out there who will take pictures of their gentials or whatever. As for your friends who take pictures of their genitals, all I can say is maybe you need new friends. Even given that, I really have no desire to pick one of these up.

I've used it to make my Gamertag into a Patrick Nagel picture from my wall. (Specifically "Mirage" for those who like his work. I have 8 Nagel prints in my living room) Use justified.

Somehow I'd seen two people using cameras in Uno over the past couple months...
Both just had themselves playing. Kinda 'blah' imo. If I wanted to see who was beating me in Uno, I'd play it in real life vs. on the 360.

Nice review. I'm going to pick it up because I want to try out Totem Ball. I read a review of it and they said that although it can make your arms tired and the controls can be a little picky it's well designed and pretty fun. Sounds like a game my kids would really enjoy since young kids (sometimes unfortunately) never seem to get tired!

This sucks I have wasted half of my lunch break from class and the dumb asses at best buy haven't even heard of it. I had to give them my name and number so that they could look it up and research what it was. So I called gamestop and the same thing happened, he was like I don't even know what that is. So I called the next gamestop and they said that they won't have them till tomorrow. Now what sucks ass is that I don't live in a tiny town. I mean it is a mere 200,000 + people, and none of our game stores know wtf it is....... Geeze, people need to be more in tune with the gamers needs.......

It's supposed to come with a code for UNO. Copied from the bottom of KD's review: Xbox Live Vision - $40 • Xbox Live Vision camera • One-month trial Xbox Live Gold membership • Xbox 360 headset • Includes free downloads of two full-version Xbox Live Arcade games including the popular UNO card game ($5) and TotemBall, the new 3D platform game from Freeverse and Strange Flavour that is a mixture of platform skills and puzzles Xbox Live Vision Gold Pack - $80 • Xbox Live Vision camera • Twelve-month trial Xbox Live Gold membership ($60) • Xbox 360 headset • Includes free downloads of three full-version Xbox Live Arcade games including the popular UNO card game ($5), Robotron: 2084, the classic coin-op shooter from Midway ($5), and TotemBall, the new 3D platform game from Freeverse and Strange Flavour that is a mixture of platform skills and puzzles • 200 Microsoft Points ($2.50)
