I turned my iphone into a hotspot (4G) and connected my Vita to it.

It wouldn't even find my Vita.   I'm going to mess around with it some more... maybe there is something I'm missing.

Is Flower supposed to be free for PS+ members or just those who bought it previously?

Just those that bought it previously.

Heh, Snap.

MS and their rebrandings of common tech. At least the tech exists this time, compared to the made up tech names of past consoles in history.

Snap-to has been part of MS's brand for a while. Try dragging a window in Win7 to the top, left, or right of the screen. That was known as "Snap". Now they have voice control for it. <shrug>

I'm assuming the deluge of Xbone stuff will begin in earnest tomorrow?

Yes, but MS is doing staggered embargoes from what I've read.  Each day will be deluge of new stuff.. Interestingly enough Ryse is embargoed till Thursday which doesn't inspire good feelings for me

maybe they're doing it in alphabetical order?

Yeah, wasn't really interested in that one so no huge loss.

Dead Rising 3 scores seem to be hovering in the 7-8 range, which is about where I figured.

Its what I expected.  IGN gave a 8.3 on Killer Instinct..   I'm not much into fighters anymore, but I might pick this up

Too bad about Dead Rising 3.  frown

Eurogamer calls it the weakest of the series and not a technical showcase of the system at all. I kind of expected it after word of the performance issues leaked last week, but it's still too bad.

I still think Resogun has a chance to be the best reviewed launch exclusive, Forza is the only thing that can top it right now IMO.  I can't see Ryse doing it, especially with it having the late embargo.

I read the Eurogamer review and he loved the older games where I hated them.  If DR3 followed that formula I would have been out.  That's not to say he's wrong, btw.  I just didn't like DR 1-2 gameplay

DR3 is averaging an 81 at Metacritic right now. If you guys think that's bad then your expectations were WAY too high. By comparison, Resogun is sitting at 82.

Not sure why I'm reading condolences out of PS4 fans for Dead Rising?   It's sitting at metacritic of 81 at the moment, and Killzone, the flagship launch title of PS4 is sitting at meta of 74.

Bummer about this one; it's getting lackluster reviews all around.  You'd think an on-rails shooter would be one of the easiest games to use as a graphical tech demo for next-gen, but it sounds like even the graphics aren't any better than a 360/PS3 era game.

Ah, didn't realize that.  In that case, though, what was the thinking about making it Xbone exclusive if they're not going to add any Xbone bells & whistles?

People were responding to one particular review (when I looked at it this morning, it was the only one out).  Of course, it must be that Sony told them to do it.

Don't get your hopes up on Amazon game deals. I haven't heard anything. Ditto Target.

The current best deal is Toys R Us - Buy 3, get $50 gift card. Best Buy has a similar promotion, but it's only $25 per 3.

I know you're joking but a 5" screen a foot away from your face is probably just as big as a 40" TV eight feet away. Personally, I'd rather play the game on the big screen and watch the sports on the Vita. Get on that Sony!

it could be that Amazon matches the TRU deal, buy 3 get $50 Amazon credit.  Some Amazon CSR was saying they had something coming up (I linked to it somewhere), not sure if that person knew what they were talking about or not.

It's not surprising to see that the launch titles have been mostly in the 60-80 range.  I'd consider any launch title for both systems that scores about an 80 to be a standout.  I'm looking forward to seeing the real next gen titles early in 2014.

It's a badly beaten dead horse, but EA needs some competition for Madden.  Anyone to push them.  Next gen football should be awesome.  It's the perfect sport to blow people away with next gen tech and gameplay.

EA exclusive deal is over soon... maybe Madden 25 iis the last, but due to their recent lawsuit settlement they are forbidden to enter into exclusive contracts once Madden expires

I really liked Contrast, despite the horrible framerate and bugs on the PS4. It could have been longer too, but the story made it feel like a pretty suitable length.
