Ok, so I bought my girlfriend Burnout 3 for her PS2 today. We had a lot of fun playing it. But, one thing we couldn't figure out (thru the manual or online) was how to play 2 player split screen. In the Multiplayer options, only one game style was available (I think it was "Crash", but it was the last option for sure), and I couldn't figure out how to get it to let us both select a car and play at the same time. Am I completely stupid? (Don't answer that! smile ) Do we have to actually unlock other modes to be able to do the split scree 2 player action? (I know the reviews SAY it has this mode, so I am quite puzzled...) Thanks guys.

I don't know if you can do crash mode with two people at once, but I know you can do most of the other games like Road Rage with splitscreen.

The only way I ever played the crash mode in multiplayer was with all the players taking turns and seeing who could cause the most damage.

So does this mean I need to unlock the other multi-player modes? If so, how?

I have the X-Box version; you don't need to unlock anything to do split screen multiplayer there (all the modes are there), though there's only one course to begin with.

So I can't speak for the PS2 necessarily, but I know the X-Box version doesn't require unlocking multiplayer modes.

Ditto.  The other modes available in the Multiplayer menu are Race, Road Rage, Team Crush, etc.

Hmm, thanks guys. That's very odd, as they definitely were blacked out on the PS2 yesterday. Maybe the 2nd controller wasn't plugged in properly or something...? Thanks for the replies.
