From the makers of the Trine games it kind of looks like they are taking some of their physics-based action platforming and mixing it with stealth for their new game Shadwen.

The game is supposed to release on PC/Mac/Linux and PS4 on May 17th.  I hope it's good, but after the turmoil of Trine 3 not really being complete on launch I'll be waiting for reviews at least.

Release trailer that I think doesn't make the game look as cool as some of their earlier videos.

Trine 1 & 2 are wonderful.  That trailer doesn’t sell me though.  Physics and animations look unfinished, like a game that should be releasing next year not in a couple weeks.

There's a demo on Steam, probably on GOG as well, will most likely check it out over the weekend. As noted in the comments, does seem a bit... floaty.

Yeah, I tried the demo and it's interesting but I don't know that I want to play it for real.

The main hook seems to be almost like SuperHot in that the world pauses entirely when you are not moving.  This is nice so you can do things like jump *autopause* judge where to shoot your grappling hook while in mid-air, and then swing.

Yeah, that really threw me when I first started it up since I had no idea about it going in. Changed one of the options before launching and got a dire warning that it could cause horrendous performance issues so use with caution. Figured okay, fine, got a nice big rig so lets go for it - watch the low-rez intro for the demo and then I'm greeted with what looked like a stuck / frozen game to me. Waited a bit and... nothing. Thought about quitting and dialing down that option but finally touched a movement key and I get a couple of frames. Move, stop, move, stop. Oh, okay, gotcha. That's... different.  icon_confused

Gonna stick with Engine's "interesting but I don't know that I want to play it for real" at the moment.

Apparently they have released a new free update that adds 14 "new" levels, reworks some AI, difficulty and other changes.

I say "new" because these levels are reworked reverse versions of old levels that act as an escape from the Castle, which was apparently the kind of abrupt end to the game.

But still, always nice to see developers giving free support to help fix and repair a game that may have had some shortcomings that made it not live up to it's potential.   thumbsup

I saw this - I still need to go back and finish the original game, I think I was about 75% through.
