Just a week before E3 happens,Lionhead have opened new Fable Forums...so new Fable game then?

CVG

but perhaps not just your run of the mill Fable game?
Quote
"Join fans from across the globe to discuss all things Fable; from the latest news & announcements to guides, walkthroughs and fan content," reads a Lionhead blog post.

"What's more, to celebrate the launch of the Fable forums we'll be rewarding everyone who registers within the first two weeks of launch with an exclusive forum medal that will distinguish you as a founding member of our forums."

Last October, following the completion of Kinect game Fable: The Journey, Microsoft issued redundancies to "less than ten per cent" of staff at Lionhead. In its official statement, the platform holder confirmed that production on the studio's next projects had begun.

In May 2012, a LinkedIn profile hinted that the studio may be working on an RPG with MMO elements for Xbox One.

And last month, Lionhead job ads revealed the studio is seeking new recruits experienced in original IP or "reimaginings of existing franchises".

In April 2013, Microsoft appointed ex-Cryptic Studios and Gazillion Entertainment CEO John Needham as boss of Lionhead Studios.

After the recent Xbox One reveal event was largely used to show off the hardware and its wider entertainment capabilities, Xbox executives have said Microsoft's E3 conference on June 10 will be "all about the games".

Of course there's a new Fable game! biggrin It's not like Microsoft is swimming in major, exclusive franchises.

I loved Fable 2 and enjoyed Fable 3. Skipped the Kinect game because it looked like complete shit. I haven't got much faith after Molyneux left, but you never know. They could come out with something great. "Reimagining" doesn't sound good though. The cynic in me reads that as "streamlining" or "making it more mainstream".

I don't know about a new Fable game -really liked 1 & 2, but 3 not so much- but I'm betting that this statement in the above quotation is total bullshit:
Quote

I'll wager now that a good 3rd of it'll be dedicated to TV, media and sports, sports, freakin sports. The way I see it, there's too much geeks-wanting-to-be-the-next-big-media-mogul amongst XBox Execs to avoid that. Hope I'm proven wrong, but I doubt it.   Roll Eyes

As much as I've been criticizing Microsoft lately, that's just not going to happen. They know what's being said about their first presentation, and they won't repeat that farce. E3 will be all about the games for them. What remains to be seen is whether or not they are any good, and whether or not 90% of them are shooters (which is likely).

Regardless, this isn't the right thread for such a discussion.

Molyneux video promising that Fable IV will alter the way you view video games, change your personal preference in cologne, make your dog a Rhodes Scholar with a British accent, cause silverware in your house to levitate, and put your name on a moon orbiting Titan in 3...2...

he left the company, so they'll need to make a CGI version of him to do it.

I would like to see an HD version of the Fable were were originally promised.  slywink

I did enjoy the first game (and the second as well, despite some issues), but I kind of wish this would be an HD re-intrepretation so they could make some of the areas larger and expand on some ideas.

Yeah, like the trees you plant as a kid that grow up with you.   That would be revolutionary.   Oh, and they can add the fish ai from cod ghost dog for the bees when you go to smell the flowers.

Too bad that Pete is gone.   After #3, I was expecting #4 to be completely stripped of those bothersome rpg aspects and just give us a full on friendship simulator.

rather see a bigger plan for Fable, for me when i think of the word Fable,i always seem to think of epic or a Journey, the current Fable games don't really feel like that to me,they are just games with a few choices

Fable 1 as a youngster/young adult(born into the world, perhaps some dumb prophecy blah blah)
More or less the kind of youngster we saw in Fable 1,plenty of decent gameplay/adventuring could be had, perhaps uncover something of a mystery that will carry on until your dying days
become friends with people only to be betrayed by them in a later game

Fable 2 as a middle aged man
well, what we see in all Fables..obviously make it better

if you get married and have kids(or just have kids anyway),let the kids grow up

and yeah sure, get a fucking dog if you want!

Fable 3 as a older/elder man(and you die at the end)
more interesting to me,depending on character you have been, perhaps you could be a Gandalf type elder, the choices throughout this game would determine if you wish to die adventuring(perhaps finding the secret of the mystery from the first game) or ignore that and die peacefully at home with your family

Like to see Fame handled better instead of holding up your trophies in front of a dozen people, get people seeking you out with quests the more famous you get

obviously transfer character info across etc etc

see the world you live in transform throughout the 3 games/your life(not just the cheap way we saw in Fable 2 and for pretty much one area),maybe friends die, perhaps recite the lyrics to The Beatles-In My Life

and i guess give them new titles,as Fable 1,2 and 3 are taken Tongue..call them 'Fable Prophecies' or I don't know something like that,so you know its a Fable game

right, now go out and make those games Tongue

Fable Anniversary has been delayed until 2014

360a.org

Quote
Initially slated for a “holiday 2013” release, the HD enhanced remake of the classic Xbox title has been held back in order for Lionhead to give fans “the best game possible.”

“We’ve been working hard for the past year to bring you the very best Fable Anniversary experience on Xbox 360,” lead designer Ted Timmins wrote on the Lionhead blog. “We feel though, that we need a little more time in order to meet our ambitions and give you, the fans, the best game possible.

“I know I speak for everyone at Lionhead when I say that we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been up to, and it gives us great pleasure to let you know that you can expect Fable Anniversary to be both on-shelves and online via the Xbox Games Store in February 2014.”

“It’s not easy making these decisions.”

Well the game did actually come out in 2004,so if its a 10 year anniversary then they are still on,......however with the Xbox One being released some 3 months before hand, this is going to hurt sales for Fable Anniversary on the 360(unless of course its so they can stick it on the Xb1)

Due the first week of Next Month, this game has gone gold and here are the pre-order bonuses

CVG

Quote
Peiratēs Pre Order Pack

Peiratēs Outfit: Peiratēs was a famous plunderer, known for travelling uncharted waters to take entire cargo ships hostage for their most expensive items. He was also known by the name "Pete" in less formal circles.

Peiratēs Cutlass: A weapon used at sea needs to be both practical and effective. Peiratēs spent years refining this weapon so that the hook could be used to catch fish, the tip could be used to eat fish, and the blade could be used to slit a man's throat.

Snowspire Pre Order Pack

Snowspire Guard Outfit: Made from genuine horse hair, this outfit is said to calm even the most vocal of criminals.

The Jackarse: An age-old popular pasttime was run by a chap named Jack, who used to slap people around the face with a dead fish until they fell onto their arse. The rest, as they say, is history...

Apollo's Pre Order Pack

Apollo's Outfit: Apollo is the pseudonym for the leader of The Grey Company, the man responsible for monitoring Lady Grey's financial investments. As fearsome as that may sound, he had a reputation for being incredibly nice, often using his own money to bail out any villager that couldn't afford that months rent.

Apollo's Crossbow: Based on a centuries old concept, Apollo wanted to create a modern crossbow with the feel of a relic from the past - and thus this crossbow was born. Dependable in combat, but also pretty tasty to look at.

February 6th-Asia
February 7th-Europe

Fable Trilogy which includes Fable Anniversary,Fable 2 and Fable 3 will be out the same day as Fable Anniversary stand alone,February 7th

Quote
The listing appeared on the Xbox Marketplace, where it noted that it "offers these games together at a discounted rate over individual purchases." Furthermore, it added that this collection won't receive any enhancements to the earlier releases of Fables 2 and 3. "The games in this bundle are available as individual downloads in the Xbox Games marketplace and are exactly the same," Microsoft stated.

From the listing it isn't clear that it contains Fable Anniversary, but a Microsoft spokesperson cleared that up in a statement to Eurogamer. "The Fable Trilogy bundle in the Xbox Marketplace is real and in development. The bundle will include full Xbox 360 titles for Fable Anniversary, Fable 2, and Fable 3." the publisher said. "We're excited to share official details regarding the release soon on Lionhead.com."

I will certainly look into this,i enjoyed all 3 games and i am looking forward to Anniversary...Although remember Fable 3 was free last year through Games with Gold offer, and also look to see if it includes all the DLC for 2 and 3,although i don't recall a 'GOTY' edition of Fable 3 so i reckon it will just be the stand alone games

Well, it sounds like this is going to be released on the PC as well.  No real details other than a teaser trailer.  Hopefully it includes some polish on top of what the 360 version was.

I guess porting a remake of a 10 year old game is Microsoft's idea of really getting behind PC gaming, heh.  Maybe they'll actually get Fable 2 onto the PC sometime.   icon_lol

Maybe for Windows 9. This game should cover their token efforts for Windows 8.1, until 9 is just around the corner and Microsoft sends out yet another press release about how they're fully committed to PC gaming. Gotta save another token for when that happens, you know. Tongue
