They usually have a shadow company pick up their viral websites though.  If it indeed has something to do with the Xbox, it must be 38 days to announcement of the date or something (which is stupid in my opinion).

Hmm, it looks a lot like the old viral marketing stuff. Is there any chance we might be suprised and see a launch first week of October (37 days)?

Its quite possible it is.  Origen was one of the great greek philsophers.  He was the first christian theologian and his work (in particular, "On First Principles") was much of the foundation for the early church.

Here are a few links about him:

The problem with this is that they will have no build up press-wise for games outside of the (mostly) demos shown at E3.  They'd be taking a Saturn-like risk (remember when it was announced and sold in the U.S. the same day?) and we know how that system turned out.

Yeah, I wouldn't put a whole of credence in the meaning of a timer.  Remember the whole, "OMG Halo 2 is doing a surprise launch in August!!!!"

Yeah, but I just can't imagine the magnitude of the stupidity of saying "OMGHI2U we will create a silly viral marketing site to announce that on October 1st we will launch the 360 on Nov.14. WE R 2 L337 4 U NEWBS!!"

Hopefully you get what I mean. It's just..odd.

Kevin got me thinking-perhaps a Halo3 announcement?

I'm not seeing the timer, just a bonzai tree (methusula tree maybe?) and what oddly appears to be a bunny but is probably a country/provence.

I knew about Origen already. Hmmm...

Here we go again. =D Maybe they'll put on an awesome radio show again! The Ilovebees radio show was outstanding, and fit so well with the books.

Well, the timer would indicate that whatever it is happens on Sept. 27 (Tuesday) at noon. I doubt that's the release of a console (since those usually happen at midnight). More likely, it's the announcement of some game (Halo 3 would be my guess).

If you right click and select "forward", the rabbit disappears and is replaced with the website's URL. Shocking. You heard it here first.

I am! I thought it was tremendously clever, and I though the whole I love bees radio stuff was some of the most underrated internet marketing/game stuff ever-seriously. Some of those radio shows were simply fantastic, with superb voice acting and really interesting stories.

Either way, I am now fairly convinced its Halo 3. They wouldn't wait till end of September to announce the 360 launch date.

Why a tree? Why a rabbit? Why "Origen"? These are clues, right, so what do they mean?

I'm not ready for another one simply because for most of the time I was keeping our clan going by answering the riddles.  Wasn't too fun when you're the only one, you know?

ORI-GEN-XBOX

ORI is 'Old Republic International Corp'  on the NYSE.

Gen Xbox = Next Gen X-Box

A Shrubbery and a Rabbit.  Shades of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which involved Knights.

The Result:  When the countdown ends we will have an announcement on the newest Knights of the Old Republic game for the X-Box 360!!!!

The site's been updated. Now the tree is bearing some sort of green fruit, and is descending into a black hole, the rabit is on the other side of the tree, and (I may be imagining this), but it looks like something is hanging from one of the branches on the left. Nothing major, but curious none the less.
