I suck at this game, but I like it and plan to stick with it.  Saying that the Day One Car pack the cars aren't in my garage even though I redeemed the code or does it mean I still have to buy them through the normal course of the game

I royally suck at this game. I think my best finish was 9th. Are you expected to not be able to win until you earn better cars?

I was coming here to say the same thing, and possibly say something derogatory about Sparhawk's one as well Tongue

but seriously, this game feels more like Combat Racing than Forza.  I've had Drivatards spin me out, force me off the track and slit my tires before the race even begins.  OK, maybe not the last bit, but still...

I'm not sure not making an actual AI but instead using the general XBL public to create drivers was the best course of action.  There is a reason I avoid playing with those not on my friends list icon_lol

I also have to add there are times where the game really does not give a feel that you are going fast.  Compared to Forza Horizon it feels like I could get out and jog quicker at times.  I am also in a love/hate relationship with the sun in the game.  Love the effect they gave it but hate it when it obscures important things like other cars and the road.

Also glad the opening race was the only one where you had to open the car door, walk up to the drivers side and get in.  totally not necessary, just plop me on the track and let me crash.

Is my guy ramming too much?  I try not to, but I'm finding I do it a LOT more with the sticks than with the wheel.  Tempted to turn off manual with clutch since it is kinda hard on the sticks.

Keep in mind also that our Drivatars are very young still, mine says 2% synced, so it's got a long way to go.

I think it's every Drivatar doing it.   I think you hit it on the head though, they're all still young.   Your green car just sticks in memory better, kinda like always seeing Devil's orangish car in the rear-view mirror.  Speaking of colors, do our Drivatars use the same color scheme that our cars have?

LOL, Hark's car didn't ram me because it was so far out ahead of every car in my race there was no chance of anyone touching it. I came in 2nd place (I chose the difficulty just below "average") and Hark was on the toilet reading a magazine before I crossed the finish line.

That is what you had in my race, so I guess if the car is one you own, it shows properly.  Mine is probably not showing on yours because I have the downloaded paint for the VIP car.

Am I missing something?  At the end of a race I'd like to see how everyone finished but all I get for options is continue, watch replay or save replay.  I'm sure Forza 4 allowed viewing of the race finish standings.

It was so fun racing against everyone's drivatars yesterday. I bumped the difficulty up because I was getting number 1 too much and didn't feel like I was working to win. The difference is very noticeable! I can dive into corners and not worry about rear ending the bots because the drivatars are also going into the corners at speed. ALso the increased credits are nice too. It really feels like I'm racing against people and seeing the drivatars race against EACH OTHER and not just me is refreshing.

My live name is Sparhawk GT so if anyone doesn't have me on their list go ahead and follow me.  icon_biggrin

Soooo... I'm not sure I'm loving it. I don't get the campaign progression. I've only played for a few hours and I'm in my second series. It doesn't seem like there's much of a progression. I always liked how you started up with the weaker cars and gradually moved up to the faster ones. It now seems like it's only gated by what you can afford. There also isn't any indication what the limitations are for each series other than that you can use one of your garage cars. But I like to sort of race the lower class cars before the better ones.

I'm also finding it really hard. Even at the default difficulty - with the default AI (err, I mean drivatars) and the default assists - I'm having a hard time even getting silver. I prefer to drive with a lot of the assist off so they don't become a crutch and that hasn't been so bad, but if I bump the AI up even a little, I have a hard time not being at the back of the pack.

Also, the Kinect head turning sucks. I had to turn it off because I was constantly looking out the left window.

I find driving inside the car is much better for me .  I was so used to driving in 3rd person I was consistently coming in the back of the pack but switching to inside I can get silver pretty regularly.

I guess I need to turn the Drivatar difficulty up from the default - I'm getting 1st pretty consistently (80%+ of the time), and the only one that really ever pushes me hard is Hark's.

I found the 35% is currently the sweet spot to me, think it might be called Expert but I need to look again.  On the 20% setting I can usually get first, but on the 35% one I have to push to hit top three.  I still REALLY wish we had longer races though.  It's pretty unrealistic to expect even a great driver to go from the back to 1st in 3 laps in a field of 16. frown

Ike, Ike, Ike... his avatar is a dick though.  First game on the harder difficulty and I'm at the back of the pack with only Ike behind me.  I come up on the turn, slow down to avoid smashing the pack in front of me, and in comes Ike from the side to ram me off the road.  Then I slow down and let him by to avoid further damage and he goes up ahead and takes out the pack of 4 in front of me.

Finally got to play some yesterday. It is cool to see names I recognize on the track. I've never seen Hark. I guess he may not be on my friends list anymore (or maybe he is too good for the game to incluide him). Sparhawk is the only name I recognize that has beaten me. If his Drivatar is getting full payouts, he shoul dbe making bank.

To the rest of you, I apologize if you see me on the track, just try to stay away from me. biggrin

well, Vidiot lived up to his name...  Sadly I missed my chance to record the clip though I did get the second attempt after rewind.

Coming up on a VERY sharp turn so I slow down and he dives straight through and tbones me on the inside, I rewind and slow down a bit more to allow him past.  The clip shows how much he disregards my line.  pfft!
