Who remembers Flashback?,i think i played it on my SNES back in the day(92?) Well now its getting a HD make over and being released as an Arcade game and what it used to look like _1.png) For those who have not played,Shadow Complex reminded me a lot of the game,i remember playing the game for months and not getting anywhere,i think there was a sequel as well, but never played that 'Fade to Black' Eurogamer

I loved Flashback when I played it on the Genesis, one of the main reasons I think because of the great animations and the sense of weight behind your character. Like the original Prince of Persia and Out of This World there was also some real frustration at times because of the long animations and rigid timing. I'm hoping they can update it to give it a more modern feel without losing what made the old game special. And then there's this from Eurogamer: Worryingly, Vector Cell's only game to its name was the critical flop Amy, a survival horror game our Dan Whitehead gave a 2/10 to in his review where he stated it "fails on all counts."

Well, it's not like they have to make the game this time around. How badly could they screw this up...?

Might be interested in giving this a try. I never got too far in the game and then just gave up and moved on. I did finish Fade to Black but that was a different type of game altogether.

I remember driving 40 miles after college one day to pick up this game from a Babbage's for the PC. It was an awesome game.

Flashback was a fantastic game, but I got burned by the recent Out of This World update (which had very frustrating controls), so I'm hesitant about this.

I'm trying to remember....were the controls on the original all that great to begin with? I played the hell out of Out of this World, but I never got very far into Flashback. Am I missing out?

Eh, it's probably another Fade to Black, the ill fated sequel to Flashback.
Couldn't they just pull a Tomb Raider or Prince of Persia with these?

Flashback is definitely worth a playthrough. I still replay it from time to time. The controls can be a little unintuitive at first, but I don't think they're that bad. It's kind of similar to the way you have to handle jumping puzzles in the original Prince of Persias.

You know, I thought this was for iOS (which is what Out of This World came out for). Having a physical controller could make all the difference. That said, the video makes it seem a little BTDT and not at all Flashback.
