A sequel to Ghostbusters is in the pipeline from Atari and Sony,and will appear on XBLA and PSN(and PC) due for Spring 2011


i quite liked Ghsotbusters 1,but still felt bit was a bit of a let down,this new game has all the usual for an arcade game like 4 player co-op,i can't say i am thrilled with the angle of the camera,but perhaps they are taking a leaf from that last Lara Croft game


And of course like the first game there is a question of whether it will appear first on the PSN this Spring and appear later on XBL

according to the link there will be no Bill Murray or no Dan Ackroyd etc etc

Yup, no Murray or Aykroyd? Most likely out.  I might have to replay the first one though - I just loved that game, except for a couple of parts, but the dialog, music story and atmosphere worked for me, and helped me get over the disaster that was Ghostbusters 2.

They needed to improve some of the gameplay, but the atmosphere, story and characters were great and helped elevate it.

I loved playing Ghostbusters Wii with my 2 kids via it's split-screen mode. IMO it still stands as one of the best looking games on the Wii and they did an excellent job with the Wiimote controls. IIRC the Wii version didn't have any of the original actors for voices, but the spoken dialog was still good. I also loved Lara Croft GoL on the 360, so if this has a similar camera and control scheme, I'll be in Day 1.

I'm assuming this will be cheap since it's an XBLA game ($20 or less) so why not, it's Ghostbusters, so I'm most likely in.

I think this is a strange release, IMHO. We'll see as more details show up.

I loved that game.  I played it from start to finish over and over and over on my Atari 1200XL computer.  So much fun.

Yeah, it was probably my most played game on the C64. A classic!

i had it for my Sinclair Spectrum+2(better detail but less colour in graphics)...and i loved just singing along to the theme music at the beginning,and it had the words appear on the screen like Karaoke

This reminds me of the three player isometric Ghostbuster's arcade game were you had a machine gun for corporeal enemies and the proton pack for the ethereal.

This looks great. I don't think I have played a Ghostbusters game since the 80's or 80's. Looks like a JA game. Should be fun.

can't say i am over keen on the QTE for trapping a ghost,but other than that it looks pretty cool

i was expecting it to be decent,maybe even like a 4 player Torchlight without the RPG stuff..and the dungeon crawling,and the weapons and armour....OKAY i was expecting it to be nothing like Torchlight
