[XBLA/PSN/Wii U] Trine 2

There's only one word to describe Trine 2: gorgeous.  No joke, see how many times it gets mentioned in reviews.  Even before you can get a chance to wonder how good the game is or what might have been improved from the great-effort-but-not-quite-there original, you're hit smack in the eyeballs by a lush, colorful world.  The colors alone are dazzling, but the detail and lighting and characters.  It just doesn't stop.  Gorgeous.

And the gameplay is definitely improved over the first one.  The physics were a little unforgiving and frustrating originally, to the point where you often felt like you were fighting the engine instead of playing the game.  This time around, everything seems to work much, much better.  It's very fluid and not frustrating at all so far.

The only problem with the demo is one that frusrates the hell out of me every time it happens: If you buy the game, you have to start over from scratch.  Grrr.

I still bought it, though.

Anyway, you owe it to yourself just to see what this game looks like.  Hopefully the gameplay will click with you, too.  Seems to be a fun one.

I bought the original on the Mac App Store on a whim when it was on sale.

Only to find out that it brings my 2008 iMac to its knees. I can barely play it at all.

Maybe someday when I get a new iMac I'll re-download it and give it a try.

I actually looked for it at the end of the trailer and didn't see it, but I was looking in the wrong place.  I was expecting a logo, not a sentence crammed in at the bottom!
