This game is really really addicting. Played with some GT folk including Hark, Jarrodhk, Chaplin, Mikagami for about 5-6 hours straight.

Guardians is accessible enough to be the gateway drug into the MOBA universe.

huh there WAS a thread about this game - i considered making one yesterday

i tinkered with the trial and enjoyed it but still debating "pulling the trigger" - my 2 concerns - matchmaking time - takes a while, which isnt a big deal until concern two ... will the game have legs enough to find human players over an extended period of time

but i agree with kato it is addicting - i think i might be terrible because im new at these sorts of games; heck i didnt even know it was a genre until i heard people talking about it in game   and it has a pokemon feel with all the characters to unlock.  ill decide by tonight if i want to go pick up a points card to nab this one - will i be spurned like the plague if im a newbie at this game?  how competitive do people get - i dont feel like getting yelled at   or maybe im overexaggerating a bit about how bad i might be, i dunno

It isn't too horrible to pick up. There is a lot of depth with the relics and gems and such. Join a group of us and have fun.

Worst case you can play against bots, alone or with us.

Thanks, those videos are actually pretty good. While not as long and descriptive as the LoL ones, at least you can see what the Guardians are able to do.

I pulled the trigger and got a game in with hark this morning. I'm not very good, but I enjoyed it and hark was good about explaining some of the strategies and what I should be attempting to do. I'm going to try to sneak away from work a little bit this afternoon and get in another game or two.

so after playing tonight im in a bit of an angry mood so that should be a good time to type impressions right?

i love the game especially with the new characters added which really seem diverse and interesting BUT (BUT!!!) it is terrible and victim to two things...

1) network code - tonight was easily my most awful night yet, with only one game completed, the rest drops.  this does NOT bode well, as i would assume it would be the worst during the first week when everyone is basking in "new game smell" and playing it... quite the opposite its gotten worse as the weeks have gone on

2) its a victim of its own player base.  i grabbed this drooling over the idea of strategy and planning amoung teammates, sending the defender to back up the enchanter, a careful ambush in the bushes, sharing ideas about where to best allocate the teams defense... in reality i had better coordination 10 years (OMG 15???) ago playing tribes in a tiny text box, on my pc.  honestly were playing on xbox, we should all have headsets, we can communicate and yet it was easier and generated more of a response playing an ANCIENT PC game, when i shouted "i need a heavy at objective X!!!" - here, today - dead air despite the advance in tech   what a bummer   it seems like if i want player interaction, i should load up halo 4 and listen to a ten year old call everyone a f@%

People, in general, do not like listening to racial slurs, random background noise, screaming babies, etc. All of which is a risk if you play xbox live and leave your mic open.

Which is why I don't play with random people, with my headset anyway. 

Also, if you are expecting good coordination from random groups of people on the internet (xbox live or otherwise), um... you are in for a lot of disappointment. 

That isn't to say that you can't get a good group together from a random selection, but it isn't likely in my experience, and if you do then keeping said group together requires using a live party. So, better to start there to begin with or play another game.

I've actually had more fun with RAW than with this sofar (400MSP - on sale right now) ... and 1200MSP seems steep for a few extra LOTR characters.
