Considering all of those titles are from 10 years ago and this is a new game developed for XBLA and likely has no voice work, I'd go with "none of the above".

This game has absolutely NOTHING to do with the series the fans know and love. Wing Commander was a space-sim game (Tie Fighter, Freelancer, Freespace, etc) where you were in your cockpit shooting down baddies.

Wing Commander Arena is a Subspace clone that just happens to have the ships/weapons/etc from Wing Commander tossed in.

I've been playing alot of the Godfather on the Wii, and next up are the Metroid Primes so my 360 may very well be inactive until September (Bioshock is going to be a PC purchase).

none of them are.  You can tell by looking at the year for all of them.

You mean like in Ultima 7 where there was a crashed fighter in the farmers field?

I miss Ultima. frown sniff.

I think I'm going to start referring to my soon-to-be-ex-wife as my favourite weapon in the game...

I understand that it's just a different type of game with WC slapped on it, but I'm fine with that.  It seems like the perfect sort of XBLA party game and this with Bomberman might be good for all of us.

Ultima 7 also had three buildings that represented pure evil.  They were a cube, sphere, and pyramid...all symbols of EA when it was known as Electronic Arts.  What's really ironic is that shortly after Ultima 7, EA bought out Origin.

good catch, and while true, I meant I'm enjoying the game slywink

I do have an issue with the matchmaking since my first 2 attempts at a capital ship game put me in when one side was 2% from destroyed and as soon as the game ends it puts you back at the main menu.  There is no game lobby which is a bit mindboggling.

You know what would be a neat prize for a Wing Commander themed sweepstakes?

How about (almost) every Wing Commander game ever released, AND the all the consoles and hardware to run them?

prophecy is on the right, behind privateer.  biggrin

time to check your eyes old man.

armada does appear to be missing though, as does privateer 2

oh, and in on topic news, i did fire this up this morning, and i highly doubt i'll be picking this up.  comes across too shallow, which isn't so  much a knock against wc:a, as one against subspace.  unless there is a deeper game hidden behind the melee and asteroid hunt modes, i don't see enough to warrant the purchase.
