This game has absolutely NOTHING to do with the series the fans know and love. Wing Commander was a space-sim game (Tie Fighter, Freelancer, Freespace, etc) where you were in your cockpit shooting down baddies. Wing Commander Arena is a Subspace clone that just happens to have the ships/weapons/etc from Wing Commander tossed in. |

You can tell by looking at the year for all of them. |

I understand that it's just a different type of game with WC slapped on it, but I'm fine with that. It seems like the perfect sort of XBLA party game and this with Bomberman might be good for all of us.

They were a cube, sphere, and pyramid...all symbols of EA when it was known as Electronic Arts. What's really ironic is that shortly after Ultima 7, EA bought out Origin. |

naw, too easy good catch, and while true, I meant I'm enjoying the game  I do have an issue with the matchmaking since my first 2 attempts at a capital ship game put me in when one side was 2% from destroyed and as soon as the game ends it puts you back at the main menu. There is no game lobby which is a bit mindboggling. |

oh, and in on topic news, i did fire this up this morning, and i highly doubt i'll be picking this up. comes across too shallow, which isn't so much a knock against wc:a, as one against subspace. unless there is a deeper game hidden behind the melee and asteroid hunt modes, i don't see enough to warrant the purchase.
