MO's being modest.  I played a solid game completing a bunch of the missions and still finished up over 40 million behind his score.  Gratz MO.

actually i was thinking maybe the table was broke,LOL,because Bucky saved my ball over and over on the first ball/life,and i thought something was wrong...my ball must of gone down the centre or sides about 10 times and Bucky just kept on saving it..fine by me

It's a fun table.  Of the currently available tables, the Fantastic 4, Captain American and Spiderman are really the best IMO, in that order.

According to the game, Bucky is supposed to have a 30% chance to save the ball each time.  If he did that 10 times in a row, you might want to consider buying a lottery ticket.

ok gang, need some help here.

bought the game and love it.   my first time playing a pinball game.   however, i'm stumped as to how people are getting millions of points more than i can ever get.    for example, on Captain America, i played multiplayer and thought i was doing well with 5 million, but the winner got over 50 million!    i know the key is to complete mission....is that really it?    am i missing something else?

Completing missions and getting multi-ball are really the only ways to get very high scores.

The well received Marvel series of tables for the acclaimed pinball simulator Pinball FX 2 will be getting another set of four tables by winter, and also will expand to other platforms in 2012.

Zen Studios has revealed that it's bringing four more character-themed tables to Marvel Pinball this winter. The first table to be revealed is one based on Ghost Rider, the stuntman with a heart of fire.

In addition, Marvel and Zen Studios revealed that Marvel Pinball will be heading over to new platforms, including Wii U, Android, iOS, PlayStation Vita, and PC at some point in the future.

The new collection, called Marvel Pinball: Vengeance and Virtue, will be available for download on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this winter. The Ghost Rider table features a variety of death-defying ramps, including a loop-de-loop. Also, there are demons. The remaining four tables haven't been announced, but the title lends itself to plenty of speculation. We haven't seen any Thor tables yet, and while Wolverine got a nice solo shoutout, the X-Men haven't yet assembled in pinball form.

ok, been playing this ALOT the past several weeks and have gotten pretty descent at it.   i'm in or at the top 5 or so in most boards.   however, i cannot for the life of me figure out how some of you guys are getting the scores you are getting.   i understand it's about the missions, but i cannot even come close to these scores.

for example, i just played Nightmare Mansion and got a personal best of 19+ million.   i completed several missions and got a couple achievments and still the top score on my friends list is 40 million.   i played a great game of Spiderman and got a personal best of 20 million.   but my top friend has over 200 million!   

am i missing something or is there a glitch that people are taking advantage of to get these type of scores?   i'm really concentrating on completing missions but i'm only about 10% of my friends top scores compared to my top scores.

is it just simply doing missions or am i missing big points elsewhere?

Nudging is a real-life skill and is in no way cheating.

That said, I am terrible at using it and even remembering to use it.

But Wikipedia is never wrong and it says:

Skillful players can influence the movement of the ball by nudging or bumping the pinball machine, a technique known as "nudging." There are tilt mechanisms which guard against excessive manipulation of this sort.

That's like saying that skillful golfers can be sly and kick their ball out of the rough before anybody notices.

It's just missions and multiballs.  When you get multiballs going, usually hitting the ramps will give net a 'jackpot', though sometimes the score bonus isn't that great.  Basically, keep the ball alive, do the missions (in Spiderman, there are levels to each mission type, with increasing score for each level completed), figure out how to get the multiball and trigger it as often as possible.

The one table I just can't get a handle on is Rome.

The trick to really high scores on Spiderman is two-fold.

One: Get extra balls. You do this by starting Aunt May's party, while that is going on, hit all the ramps. Bam, extra ball. You can potentially get an extra ball on every ball (sometimes 2).

Two: Complete all the missions (Green Goblin, Doc Oct, Mysterio, Jonah Jameson) at least once, after you do that, activate the lock by hitting Doc Oct's spot at the top of the table, then lock 3 balls in the same place. This starts the Clone Chaos multiball. 4 balls in play, all targets score an amount based on your record best against each mission. Right now that is 6.4 million a target for me.

I still have a hard time finishing the JJ mission, so I don't get the Clone Chaos all that often. My high score is 575 million though. I think I actually managed to get the clone chaos twice that game.

is there a website that gives sorta a walkthrough for missions?    i've played Spiderman dozens upon dozens of times and i've gotten multiballs going tons of times and i think i'm racking up a huge score to only get like 15 million.    and it's not only Spiderman, it's all the tables.   like i mentioned earlier, i had a great game on Nightmare going where i played 1 ball for a good 20 minutes and finished with only 12 million.

i'm definitely getting better, but man i'm so far behind the top scores it isn't funny.

and when you guys talk about nudging, do you mean tapping the sticks to move the table?   i do that but honestly don't see how that is cheating nor how that makes that much a difference.

It's not cheating.  It's an intended part of the game (unlike throwing a golf ball).  The skilled players in tournaments can nudge without even thinking about it.  It's a completely necessary skill on real world tables.  I just wish I could do it.

Also, it's "Doc Ock" not "Oct" - just saying.

I have been thinking of new tables or table theme packs they could do,and i keep coming back to 80s movie pack

The Goonies,Indiana Jones or Back to the Future 

The Goonies could have the pirate ship in one corner of the table and booby traps(that's what i said,booby traps),while the Indy table would have to have a giant bolder somewhere while Back to the Future could easily have something to do with 88mph,or lighting up segments of the Flux Capacitor

but i guess its down to licenses,if Zen have got the Marvel License,then i guess they will exhaust that license,but if we are expecting 4 more Marvel tables one being Ghost Rider,then maybe even though there are millions of Marvel Characters maybe 10 Marvel Tables will be enough and they will move on

I do still hope they do carry on releasing tables for Pinball FX2,and not bring out Pinball FX3,as i don't really see Pinball FX3 needed

Really, how many more Marvel tables could they do?  I only came up with a few:

Daredevil
Hulk
Xmen
Dr. Strange
Punisher
Silver Surfer
Avengers

Some of those could be discounted as not likely to sell.  So maybe one more pack or two more individual tables?

yeah,according to Kotaku,that Vengeance and Virtue Marvel pack is still due...but apparently this was announced back in July(passed me by)..Ms 'Splosion Man

Back in July, FX Pinball 2 creator Zen Studios revealed that Twisted Pixel's Ms. 'Splosion Man would supply the theme for the next table for the pinball simulator. Six fresh screens of that went out today.

No release date or trailer yet, but Zen says both are coming soon enough.

Zen's next project is the Vengeance and Virtue series of Marvel Pinball tables, announced at Comic-Con 2011. Ghost Rider will be the first one of those.

After hashing out their differences, Team Meat asked Zen Studios if they want to make a Super Meat Boy pinball table, which Zen Studios promptly called a "RAD" idea -- one that they had tried to contact Team Meat about last fall. Team Meat responded to the idea with an enthusiastic "Let's do it!"

I found the paranormal table okay,i think i managed to get into the haunted house once,and as soon as i got in i lost the ball and fell back out again

how do you get multiball?,i managed to get 2 balls locked,but that was it,i was never able to figure out how to get that last ball or activate the multiball

As for the multiball, I haven't been successful, but I believe it has to do with the cube at the top.  Instead of shooting for the haunted house, you can go for the cube and that starts a different minigame that I was not able to win - but I only got up there twice and the first time I had no clue what I was doing
