the hardest part of quitting a MMO is filling up that time with something else. i quit out of boredom a few times and almost resubbed out of boredom.

Have a kid or two.  Problem solved, no free time!

Or maybe a girlfriend...

I always said that I was glad I met my wife and finished college before WoW came out. I would have been so much more reclusive if it had. Congrats on hanging it up, it is the best thing for you.

Soon I might become the last person on Earth who never spent a nickel on a WoW subscription (I did buy the game a couple months after launch and quit during the free 30 days). Perhaps the TV news will interview me about it some day.

Nah there is 100's of amazing games out there that millions of gamers have never played or even tried.

It isn't a badge of honor to have played or not played a specific game. You are in the majority when it comes to wow, with over 6 billion people world wide most of them also haven't subbed to WoW or even ever played it.

I wonder what the next 25 buck mount will be... imagine if they did a new one quarterly....

Seems the smart thing to do would be to limit the amount of sparkly stuff they sell but jack the per-piece price way up.  That way they keep their income from this stuff but also allow the players to keep some amount of individuality.

I don't understand the appeal of these $25 mounts.  It's not like you have to complete some special quest or defeat a tough boss to get them.  All you are doing when you ride one is advertising that you are willing to spend $25 on a re-skinned mount.  Where is the nerd cred in that?

Then it would blow your mind how much cosmetic stuff people buy in Free Realms.  SOE figured out that people are willing to pay for all sorts of cosmetic crap in the $5-25 range.  As a business model it's a great idea.  The only way I could see any of the blizzard store stuff in wow screwing things up for other gamers is if they could gave an unfair advantage in pvp.  Based on the sales numbers posted earlier for Sparkley horsey, there seems to be a lot of people who could care less about nerd cred earned through grinding instances and raids.

I like you get it on all characters, and it sounds like it counts as one of the fast mounts too, if you have the skill. Seems like a decent idea if you are going to share it across a bunch of characters.

I wish that mounts for shadow priests (my main) didn't turn into shadow form with me, it makes them look less cool.
