Here's an example where changing a game for the casual market could be a good thing (at least for me, since I hated the timer mechanic in the 360 game):

No more timer!
RE4 like over the shoulder camera
No camera (too bad)

Details here via 1up.

Edit: I was hoping the "Chop till you Drop" was a joke on Joystiq's part. An unfortunate title.

If it's $20 or cheaper I'd probably get it again.

I never got the 360 version as the demo didn't do much for me and I wasn't too thrilled about the timer concept either. Even though this wasn't on my games to get in the next 5 month list, I'll probably give this a go. Especially if the wiimote controls are well implemented.

So casual gamers are intimidated if the game they are playing looks good. OK.

if you did things right, you find that you have plenty of time between objectives

and Zombie sacrifice is right...they have sacrificed a lot of zombies, the mall is empty!!,but i suppose thats expected of the Wii

from kotaku

i will still love and treasure my 360 version, that one day i will go back to and finish

Well I expect we won't have the same dizzying crowds of zombies in the Wii version, but this certainly seals the fate of my 360 version  which will now be traded in. I'm sorry, but no matter how compelling the game, putting me on some lame timing schedule ruins it. Dead Rising managed to do it even worse than Majora's Mask did. I get that to some this mechanic was "brilliant", but to me it was "shitty".

that is a pretty damn strange concept to wrap your head around smile ...

as is, between the bioshock conversion & this one, that's pretty much the only 360 exclusives i've ever been interested in - cool! (well, actually, ng2 would be nice, also)...

i know that a drop in quality was to be expected, but damn.  that's ps2 quality right there.  what is that, like 8 zombies on screen at once?  looks like a mod for the ps2 version of vice city.

they better nail the controls or this will be just as bad as wii far cry turned out to be.

they should have made this a side story involving a child surviving by hiding from the zombies and not a remake.  then they could have justified the limited # by forcing you into smaller areas.

That definitely looks pretty shitty, doesn't even feel like the same game.

I like the fact that they are killing the timers and such, but it's obvious that beyond about 5 feet the mall just looks deserted.  Boo.

I find myself wondering if it wouldn't be better to put out the "RE4 camera style with no timer" version on the 360, and therefore not sacrifice graphics at all. smile

I find your lack of zombies disturbing.

Well...it's Capcom and they do like to re-release improved versions, so anythings possible.

A Wii version... cool, sounds interesting.

On second thought I think I will go back and play the 360 version again.

Add in some modern saving and I might actually buy that version.  Tongue
