Oh it's on, folks. Info is just trickling in, but Smash Bros. Brawl is coming to Wii. Not a lot to read, but enough to make many happy.

Why is Solid Snake is this game? He is not a Nintendo character. Whats next... Mega Man? Master Chief?
Game looks good so far though! Wario is a playable character!

Holy shit.
Solid Snake as a playable character. That is so awesome it HURTS.
Wish we had more info, including videos and stuff, but that's okay. It's Smash Bros. - there's no possible way they'll mess it up.
Plus, with online? Wowwowowo.

I just got done watching this video and all I can say is WOW. SSB was easily my most played GC game and this could possibly be my most played game on the Wii when it comes out. This game is easily in my top 3 shown at E3. Good work Nintendo! Against all odds, they really are doing a great job with the Wii! Cant wait!!

Not really an inside joke - it's sort of a series standard Nintendo wins E3.

Hopefully Pit gets his own game now that he's got a starring role in Smash Bros.
Other than online, what else can they do to this series to make it seem new? I thought that the last one was so well executed that not much needed to be changed about the fighting system. I can't think of anything else they can do to really mix it up, so I am hoping that the game is very well refined and executed and that the online portion has all of the same crazy stat tracking from the normal game.

Game looks good so far though! Wario is a playable character! You do know where Mega Man started right? This is another one I'm definitely getting for the Wii. I haven't yet played it on the GC, but I remember playing the original a ton.

Wowza that does look fun!
I wonder how the "new" control scheme will compare to the classic control scheme? I understand both will be options. I just can't imagine a fighting game with the Wiimote.

Well Master Chief (or more accurately a Spartan) was already in DOA4 so this is hardly unprecidented.

And the sequel to the best fighting game on the Gamecube has finally been confirmed. I am SO fucking IN! on this game it's not even funny. Now all Nintendo needs to do is announce the Wii's release date and price (and at like $200-$250), and they win E3. Oh, and Nintendo has a site up for the new SSM. Click through for what should be the main theme music under the Music header.

They said it would be using a cube contoller scheme. they didn't feel the wiimote was apprpriate. From what I'm reading, it seems that it'll support both the Gamecube controller ("Don't throw out your Gamecube controller yet" - was overheard), and the WiiMote. Obviously the more standard controller would be better for a game of this type (IMHO).

I think that was by far the best game trailer from E3 so far. I loved the intro where we saw everybody morph from their Gamecube form to their Wii models - except poor Kirby who looks the exact same. The 'suprise' at the end of the trailer was great too!

Very awesome. It's what fans of SSBM wanted - same deep gameplay with online play. Throw in some new characters and you've got a complete package right there.
I agree with Dimmona - one of the best E3 trailers I'v seen, apart from the Metal Gear (PS3 and PSP ones) trailers.

You might not have all the nolastaga (however you spell it) that we 'old timers' have over some of the characters, but it's an excellent fighting game all around. And a absolute ton of fun to play.
