I don't see what's so special about that video, if anything it indicates way too much hopping around in disorienting environments. And on top of that, the series looks even more kiddy than before. I'll pass on that shit.

Its ok, go back to GTA and Def Jam: ICON... I'll take this "kiddy shit" over added swearing and violence any day of the week.

I don't mind the "kiddie shit" at all, but I have to say that I dread the camera control in this game and think it is just adding complications for no real reason.  I doubt I will buy it until it is reduced price.

i dont mind 'kiddie' stuff...or GTA stuff...i love all kinds if it gets me playing, and mario has never let me down before.

trailer looks great, looks a bit funny being suspended in space...but i am sure it will play fab,and the graphics prove that the Wii has something in its box for graphics to be able to show off a little

It definitely looks interesting.  If they don't overcomplicate it like they did with Sunshine, it should be a lot of fun.

I don't need my games to be GTA style, personally I don't like over-the-top violence and swearing. Light-hearted is one thing, like in Rayman games for example, but seriously if Mario wasn't running around in that video you would think it was a kids game. Nintendo should do for Mario what they did for Zelda and mature it a little bit.

I thought I heard that the camera will move automatically, but I'm not certain.

The game looks neat, but it definitely interested me a lot less than the rest of you.  For me the Mario name works against the game.  When I see Mario in a title I still first think of Super Mario 1-3 and Super Mario World, and this looks nothing at all like that type of gameplay.  It's not like Zelda and Metroid, whose 3d incarnations are so clearly an extension of the original versions.

I think I just missed the boat around the time of Mario 64 when platformers turned into explore & collect games, even Mario 64 didn't grab me nearly as much as it enchanted the rest of the world when it came out.

Whoa.

I just hope the camera works well in this game - it would be an absolute nightmare to control manually, methinks.

Yeah it looks pretty ridiculous to me.  My son is a mario fan, and was "meh" after watching it as well.  I don't see what the hoopla is about personally.  Looks like they are running out of stuff to do with the same formula.

I'm a little worried about the camera, too, but I'm more worried that there will not be a lot of variety in the worlds.  It seems to be a lot of running around with just black space in the background.  There was one scene with a reddish-pink background that gave me hope, but otherwise this just feels like those annoying block levels from Sunshine over and over again.

I am looking more forward to the Paper Mario platformer than this, but I am still interested, at least.

Oh man, I've been saying since the letdown that was Mario Sunshine that if they would release a Mario game that was nothing but "challenge" levels (those block levels from Sunshine) only with a ton of them to play through, I'd be all over that.

I can only dream. icon_wink

I finally got to watch the video.  I find myself very ambivalent about it.  It didn't 'wow' me nor did I hate it.
