That's cool.  You are entitled to your opinion.

I have not played Rock Band 1 or Rock band AC/DC in months.  In fact I don't even own the disks.  But the DLC I bought back in Dec of 2007 is still playable.

I never play GH:WT anymore.  In fact I traded it for GH:Metallica.  All of the GH:WT DLC content except for Death Magnetic that I bought is now worthless.  I'm sure I won't play GH:M forever.  So I won't be buying any DLC for it either.  If all of the DLC were compatible I would feel differently.

Thus while I buy songs for Rock Band 2 just about every week, I will not be buying any more for Guitar Hero <insert current version>.

Well, after going through the playlist and not finding any surprises I'm not seeing enough songs that I care about to justify me spending more than 20 bucks on this game.  I had a feeling this would be the case before i got my rental from gamefly, and I'm glad I trusted my instinct for once.

It's put together very well though. I love the intro with the various album covers.

I don't want the on disk WT songs to work in GH:M.  I just want all of the DLC to be playable in both games.  Death Magnetic is.  Why not Smashing Pumpkins or Oasis?  I'm not sure what that has to do with being a programmer.

Again, this goes against the spirit of the game.  James Hetfield would probably shit if you were playing Oasis in his game.

I love how you don't have to play through every song to finish each instrumental campaign.  You just have to earn enough stars to unlock the final song and beat that song.  It is possible to skip the non Metallica songs if you want too.  I am trying to get the achievement for beating all of the instuments.  I got through guitar, bass, and drums.  But I can't beat friggin Turn the Page even on easy vocals.

I've done everything except vocals.  It will be interesting to see how it goes.  I am intrigued now, though, that you can't pass a song on Easy.  Are you just a bad singer or is the game really hard?

I am a horrifically bad singer.  I blew through guitar, drums, and bass on expert and yet I can't sing on easy.  The crazy thing is we're not talking about opera singing here.  It's Metallica for Christ sake.

I just picked up the second pedal and adapter for the RB kit, and boy, do I need practice with that...I SUCKED! 

I also picked up a throne and the official silencers...all I need now is to replace my sticks and I'll be good to go...

The only Metallica songs I have left to get through on expert are Dyer's Eve and Battery.  I got through 86% of Dyer's Eve earlier today, so I hope to have it knocked out today...Battery is another story altogether...

I just knocked out Dyer's Eve, Battery and That Was Just Your Life (Death Magnetic DLC) in a row on expert...my right leg is on FIRE!!!!  That was loads of fun though...good cardio!

Thank YOU. I've been waiting for a sale on this (eventhough I'm sure it's worth $60) and pulled the trigger immediately after reading your post.

This arrived late yesterday and I had enough time to play three songs. I'm biased but I'm already liking this a lot more than GH:WT. I had mixed feelings while walking through the opening ("hey, cool opening... but doesn't this mean they've sold out?") but that all went away as soon as I played the first song. Oh, and I also didn't expect so much constant fret movement on 'Turn The Page'. Nice surprise!
