Well... we did it with GR:AW and it worked.

We did it with Gears of War and it worked.

Let's try it again, shall we?

GAME:  Rainbow Six: Vegas

RELEASE:  Soon enough to be talkin' about it

MODES: LOTS of different ones, including 4 player co-op

PLATFORMS:  Xbox360 / PC / PS3 / PSP

- - - - -

I don't expect near the turnout we got for Gears of War... but these are the things collectively as a community we should chime in on:

- Who's in for the 4 player Co-Op?
- Who's in for the multiple other MP modes?
- Maybe most importantly, which platform are you getting it for?

What's that you say?  You don't know enough about it to make a decision yet?

Feel free to educate yourself

In.

The demo was odd, though. It seemed pretty ugly, like the textures were lower resolution. It didn't bug me, as it is a demo, but did anybody else notice that?

I did not notice that, it seemed gorgeous to me.  And fabulous.  Maybe the Vegas setting was getting to me.

Anyway, in.

In for any mode on the 360 and possibly the PC version.  You know, the only two that matter  icon_twisted  I'm gonna have to play the demo again and see if I can make it through without dying.

actually I was being serious.  I doubt there's going to be alot of GT PS3 players right away, and I can't see alot of people buying it twice (I may be getting the PC version to play with a bunch of people I know who don't have 360's).

I look forward being owned by all of you in the near future.   icon_smile

I expect to be playing R6 all through the winter break.  So shouldn't be a problem for those who won't be picking it up until later.

I love the Clancy games on the pc, but they were a waste of time playing single player.  I'm definitely IN if i can get some playing partners to do coop.  Playing this style of game in Vegas just sounds awesome.  Some of those screens of real locations are incredible.

In for 360.

My FPS skillz are weak, so I love me the co-op.  GoW is pretty fun that way, so I'm looking forward to having 4 man co-op.  I'm also looking forward to constantly getting friendly-fire fragged, blinded by flash grenades, and otherwise manhandled by my teammates, so you guys had better deliver on that front!  biggrin

I'm in.

360 version.

Any gameplay mode, though based on past experience, coop will get the most play.

Well, I heard a rumor this was delayed a week.  And I am way too lazy to find out if it's true.

But, IGN's review is out.  Here is a taste of it...

You can also play cooperatively online with up to four players, which is among the most enjoyable co-op experiences out there. Imagine coordinating over your headset with three friends. Who is going to rappel through the north window? Who's going through the main entrance? Who's throwing the flashbang? And when it's all said and done, you countdown "Three, two, one," and go. Awesome.

You can also play through a number of maps in a Terrorist Hunt. Basically, there are 50 terrorists out to get you, and your mission is successful when each one is pushing up daisies.

Versus multiplayer has always been a strength of Rainbow Six, and that doesn't change here. The game comes with 10 huge maps suited for 16 players, including a casino, a Mexican Village, the Hoover Dam and some classic maps like The Streets. Game modes include Sharpshooter, Survival, Team Sharpshooter, Team Survival, Retrieval, and Attack and Defend. The team modes are especially fun because you have to work together to succeed. In the new mode, Attack and Defend, one team has to recover a package and reach an extraction point. Well let's say that briefcase is tucked away inside a heavily-guarded casino vault. A few guys will have to toss in a bunch of grenades and assault from the front. Others will flank around the back. And one sneaky fella with his eyes on the prize will go for the grab. Finally, the entire team will try to clear a path to the extraction point. This makes for excellent multiplayer, pure and simple
.

Sounds pretty good.

Great review-other than some suprising comments about the graphics (that IMO were not present in the demo)-and some newfound concern about the length (10 hours on normal with reloads-a tad short)-this review has solidified my opinion that this one is going to be awesome! Can't wait-btw Lockdown-EBgames says shipping next Monday, so the delay appears real.

Actually EB had it shipping on 11-20 for awhile-  I think I even mentioned it in another thread that it was originally supposed to come out the same day as GoW and CoD3 but got delayed a couple of weeks (thankfully!)  icon_biggrin

Dangit i'm IN!  As long as i can find a few people who want to play this coop, i'm all over it.  I haven't even got my 360 and this has me pumped!  I love me some Clancy games.  Had some awesome fun with these on the pc!

Kinda glad it's a little late arriving since my finals are Wednesday.  Gives me something to buy after i've taken my last RN exam ever!  (other than my boards that is)

I'm sure moriarty will be in as well.  Not sure if we'll be able to split-screen it, or if I'll have to risk my life prying her off of the game once in a while.

OK.  Unless my local stores don't have it in for some reason, I will be playing tonight for sure.

I would love to hook up for some Co-Op missions with at least one other person.  Say... 8:30pm eastern, give or take.

Anyone willing to join in, or am I gunning solo?

Co-op?  Did I hear someone say co-op???  I'm definitely up for some co-op this evening.  I'm on duty, so I'll have to jump out a couple of times.  Moriarty will likely be over as well, so if it doesn't do split-screen co-op I'm sure she'll be willing to take over when I have to take off for a few minutes.

Look for me tonight.  Really excited to play.

Jarrod (or anyone really) -  When you find out if you can play this thing Split-Screen Co-Op over Live with others, will you let us know please.  This would actually be a pretty cool feature if they implemented it.
