Well, it would seem that monster hunter lacks 'Infrastruture Mode' play..which means no online play.  On the other hand, Xlink Kai seems to help emulate the ability to play online.  Anyone here used it?  Anyone interested in trying it out online with me in the next couple of days?

Ha, I wouldn't exactly call this an "issue" per se, in that it isn't like it's a bug or anything.  The fact that this has no infrastructure has been known for some time, too.  I want to get it, but still waiting on reviews before biting on it.

would like to try some co-op at some point, but i'm thinking i'll be busy figuring everything out solo for at least a little while (people who love it & people who hate it seem to agree the game's got a pretty steep learning curve). xlink kai looks interesting (the link's now working) - will spend some time checking it out as well...

thanks for the info...

If you guys say that it's pretty easy to hop on using those applications and play online, it might warrant a Monster Hunter Freedom purchase for me.  Please update your experiences with it   biggrin

Picked it up during lunch today - would be willing to hunt some monsters with you all sometime after I get the single player figured out.

And I thought mytocles would have been all over this release.  Does she still own the PSP I sold to her a long time ago . . .?

Gamespot didn't like it much.  6.5.  But most of their complaints seem to be about the dropped online functionality and the camera.
