I searched and didn't see a dedicated thread for this, so I figured I'd just start one rather than continue to derail other threads randomly.

The free April Games With Gold are:

XBox One: Pool Nation FX and Child of Light
Xbox 360: Gears of War: Judgement and Terraria for the 1st to 15th; Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel from the 15th to 31st.

Decent choices, but nothing I'm super interested in to be honest.  Maybe I'll give Army of Two a try, if I'm not still playing a bunch of other games then.

Child of Light is a good game.

I wound up buying one of the new fangled 360s after I traded in my slim model toward games for my Xbone. At least free games like this makes that seem less like a silly thing to do.

I'll just mention it in here as well in case people are avoiding the existing thread on Forza Horizon 2: the standalone expansion/tie-in thingy for Horizon 2 and Fast & Furious 7 is available free to download for it's first couple weeks.  It'll be $10 after that.

September games are:

September 1:
- Deer God [Xbox One]
- Battlestations: Pacific[360]

September 15:
- Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition [Xbox One]
- Crysis 3 [360]

And a reminder that the Xbox One games are available for a full month (the mid-month ones continue until the middle of the next month), but the 360 ones are only available for 2 weeks each.  Also, the 360 games will all be backwards compatible on the Xbone when that launches.

So how does this work, are the games available to play just for that 2 week/4 week time frame?  I am considering getting an Xbox One for my birthday and was thinking of signing back up for Gold.

You have that window to download them. Full game, doesn't stop working after the window closes. I snagged a few of these on my 360 (BioShock Infinite being one) and it's a nice little perk.

Yeah, once you download them they're yours to keep and play whenever, so it always pays to "buy" them when they become available.

For 360 games they are yours even if you drop your Gold membership.  For Xbox One games you need to maintain an active Gold membership to play them, just like with PS+ games.

So outside of the normal Games with Gold program (which has more games like usual), they have now made The Witcher 2 backwards compatible and also FREE to download for 2 weeks!

Hand of Fate is great, though I wish I didn't already have it now.

Didn't they already do Styx?

EDIT: Maybe that was PS+

This month they have:

Xbox One:
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments (I highly recommend) 3/1-3/31
Lords of the Fallen 3/16-4/15
and Styx: Master of Shadows still running until 3/15

Xbox 360
Supreme Commander 2 3/1-3/15
Borderlands 3/16-3/31

I wish their dates weren't so screwy with the half month overlap stuff...makes it harder to remember to post about new stuff.
