I would put more money on Sully endangered (or dead) due to circumstances that Nate created, and he's off for rescue (or revenge).

I watched the video in 1080p in 60 fps here and it's ridiculous.  Can not wait.

It has been confirmed by multiple sources that the trailer we saw for this game was rendered in real time on a single PS4 at 1080p 60fps, no trickery involved. What we saw is part of an actual level in the game. Uncharted 4 will mark the beginning of Naughty Dog doing all cinematics in-game instead of using traditional pre-rendered CGI.

Naughty Dog proves once again why they're so renowned.

Here's a Digital Foundry article which takes a closer look at the trailer. Suffice to say, they're impressed.

Also, Nolan North thinks this might be the last Uncharted game.

Nah, probably the last Uncharted game about Nate and company, and the last one we'll see for a few more years. But, I'm pretty sure that by the end of this generation we'll see a new Uncharted with an entirely new cast, with nods to the old crew.

Now's a good time to send off the series, but if you give the story and gameplay some time to lay fallow, they can easily bring back a game in the same style.

That said, the Uncharted formula has been working great in the industry in terms of AAA cinematic games, and all of ND's projects. Uncharted will never really go away since that style has influenced the game industry as much as some of the better recognized classics.

That seemed to clearly be the intention from all the "one last time" dialogue in the trailer and the subtitle of the damned game.

The "one last time" thing is an action story trope though, and is rarely taken literally. As for the title, it most likely refers to the story that was hinted at with the previous trailer, leading Drake on the trail of a thief who did meet his end. Of course, it could also talk about both of them, though I suspect it's meant as a red herring to increase the story's dramatic tension. I really doubt Drake will die in this game. Sully maybe, but not Drake, and even that I doubt. These stories are too light-hearted, and their tone would change too much if their final destination was the hero's death.

Druckman did say he wanted to kill Elena in UC2. Now that he's back and fresh off acclaim in TLoU maybe he's gonna go hog wild and off people!

we should have a pool for who lives and dies.  I'm guessing Sully bites it to let both of them escape from a massive army and then Nathan bites it saving Elena.

Wonder what the odds are on a complete wipe.  There would have to be a world-saving moment for that to happen though.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did.  They could leave the adventuring to Elena or that character from Golden Abyss.  Safe bet is Sully though.

Yeah, they've been talking about this for a while now. We're going to see something from the game, though we don't know what. For all we know, there could be something playable, but I doubt it.

I'd be happy with one of their awesome trailers.  Gameplay would be icing on the cake!

Holy shit, that went waaaay beyond what I had hoped we would see. I think the clipping bug just makes the whole thing appear more honest and real, and will probably reduce any skepticism that Naughty Dog can actually pull this off.

I'm curious to see if the game is still running at 60 fps, like it was when it was last shown, and which ND has said is the goal.

The whole thing felt familiar in a good way, but you can also see the improvements they've made, particularly in the now extremely fluid climbing controls. Also, that level looks like it'll be a bitch to beat on Crushing difficulty.

Wow, that looked amazing. The thing that stood out to me was that the enemy death animations looked completely improvised. Nothing canned looking. Also the textures and lighting were sheer eye candy.

Sometimes I really hate Neogaf. The whole thread over there is people arguing about framerate and whether it looks as good as the teaser. Doesn't anyone care about the game anymore?

Here's a rule of thumb I've learned about NeoGAF discussions about games: If a poster mentions the word "IQ" (as in "Image Quality") and isn't ironic about it, he's not worthy of your time. That place has a small, but important selection of people who really know their shit, but the backside of that is that the remaining 99% think that this rubs off on them. It doesn't. The vast majority of the people in those threads talking about technical stuff (and IQ is the biggest tell here) don't know even the first thing about the subject.

So in short: If you see the acronym "IQ" in a post, skip that post. It's written by a dumb wannabe.

Oh during the keynote demo he fell to his death and it glitched and he fell through the world. Just let everyone know it was actual gameplay. I need to watch the YouTube cut to see how it's different.

None of that is unbelievable in any way considering the current released games. It's just all put in one very polished package.

Funny at around the 1:40 mark you see Nathan jump across a cliff to grab onto a ledge.  Prior to jumping he had a flashlight in his hands, and in mid air he was able to strap the flashlight to his belt and catch the edge to shimmy himself up.

He got married between games 2 and 3. Part of the plot of the third game revolves around this topic.

The ending of 3 was rather rushed, but I think they alluded to it happening from what I remember.  Just notice it more now because of the extra detail.

Anyway, looks incredible. Need some drool buckets around here.

The footage is definitely in the 30fps range.

Here's hoping for a PC port  icon_lol
