remember that questionnaire about what PS2 games you wanted to see 'remade' for PS3..and we know that we have had God Of War Collection and Sly Cooper,well here is the box art for Sly,and it seems like it will be in a new 'Classics HD' brand




thinking about Metal Gear Solid 2 HD makes my mouth water(or MGS3 for that matter,when they finish with the 3D version)

Fatal Frame 2 is the only game I've ever had to stop playing because it was too scary.  I'd love to see HD remakes of the games...but I'm not sure I'd actually buy them.

I'd love to see Jak and Daxter get the same treatment... but as stated earlier, Ico/SoTC should be next.

I'm guessing that they will hold Ico/SotC until just before Last Guardian's release.  Unfortunately that will probably be well into 2011.

I'm kind of curious why they did Sly before Ratchet or Jak. They did God of War a little while before GoW3 came out - it would have made a lot of sense to do the Ratchet pack when ACIT came out. Maybe they are waiting for when that mascot game comes out.

Yeah, I found it curious as well.  I wonder if maybe they felt like they needed to raise Sly's profile more with Heroes on the Move on the way.  Or maybe after Insomniac decided to go multiplatform, Sony decided they needed to throw Sucker Punch a bone to make them content and decided that putting the Sly Collection out over a Ratchet collection would be a show of support.

ICO/SOTC would be cool,but you have to remember that Team Ico are only a small team(20-30?),so i can't see them reworking those two titles as well as The Last Guardian,unless another team does it

Agreed, I had a hell of a time in the Hades temple walking stuff on the PS2, but on the HD Collection, it was no problem at all.

i was looking through my PS2 collection...would love to see RE:Code Veronica done,maybe all the RE games(yes...again) with Move controls,as i loved RE4 on the Wii...and it may actually get me interested in thinking about getting PS Move

I think they said that the Sly Cooper collection would have mini games added that would support move.

There has never been any actual confirmation of this, correct? Although I'd love to see a remake I don't really see a point from a financial perspective. These games did not sell very well, especially in comparison to many other games in Sony's stable.

I suppose a Last Guardian tie-in is the main catalyst for this rumor?

I think it'd be more about trying to up the revenue of TLG.  My hunch is it doesn't cost a crazy amount to HDify these.  So it would almost be marketing.  Plus, the HD monicker has a 'worth it' cachet at this stage, so I assume they'd hope to make up for previous lackluster sales.

No confirmation though I think Sony is on record as "looking into it".  TLG marketing is obviously a big part of it.  But I think Sony also sees these titles as having a certain non-financial value in establishing their reputation for quality.  Same reason that they even fund Ueda at all and also give him enormous amounts of time to make his games.

Are these HD classics only going to be Sony's games or are other publishers getting into it?  Brilliant idea in my opinion.  Why do backwards compatibility for free when you can up the resolution and sell everyone the same game all over again.  And I would gladly pay for some games again.  Beats playing a grainy, tiny screen.

Killzone (fixed framerate would do wonders for the game)

Prince of Persia would definitely be high on my list, but also seems least likely due to the fact they appeared on other platforms. A Final Fantasy bundle could also include X-2.  Devil May Cry trilogy would seem to be another good candidate.
