Finished this yesterday - wow.  I was a bit unsure about it at the beginning - I think I assumed it was more of an open world experience, maybe?  But I enjoyed the story and the gameplay, though at points the game-iness of it became too apparent... respawning enemies, certain paths they would never go down, ignoring the AI partners, etc.  Though it didn't detract from my enjoyment.

But man, what a bleak experience.... I did not sleep well last night.

Loved the DLC and am sad again that there's no TLoU on the horizon.  Maybe forever!

What's the verdict on the DLC?  Worth $15?

And I will double dip for the PS4 version, especially to get in more time with the multiplayer at full 1080p and solid framerate.

Infamous Second Son looks amazing, TLOU on PS4 should look comparable since devs tend to create assets at a little higher resolution.

This will also put my opinions to the test of whether ND games' problems with shooter controls is really an issue with input lag and framerate.

Naughty Dog is also one of the primary technology lead studios for Sony, this means the porting techniques and methods they use for TLOU PS4 could spread to other developers or teams, leading to double HD versions of more PS3 games.

I never did play the MP so may be that's what you're referring to...but I dont' recall any issues with the controls or response times whatsoever.

its what half the posts in this very thread is about - some people complain about controls, other say its on purpose it works the way it does.

You owe it to yourself to try the MP, although by now there's a lot of experienced players in it.

The key with the MP is that, assuming your team isn't made of idiots, it's actually really tactically paced. People have described it as the next SOCOM, but with fewer automatic weapons. And there's a ton of ways built into the game that make teamwork the name of the game.

Like me, I'm all over this.  I was expecting to play it on PS Now though, but as long as I get to play it I don't care.

Yeah, I'd be all over it as well. The Last of Us (and to a lesser extent Uncharted), are my only regrets about never owning a PS3.

yup, the image is displayed on the web store right now.  although, given the link is broken, I'd say either of two things will happen.  they'll pull the image from the banner rotation until it's been properly announced, or the link will actually go live later today.

I'd be somewhat tempted since I still haven't grabbed the DLC on the PS3, and the multiplayer could be fun with a good crew of folks.

Really excited for this! I loved it on the PS3 and can't wait to see it on the PS4.

Hoping GTA 5 is also out this summer for the PS4 as well, as the current rumor is stating.

Apparently, pre-loading is also coming to PS4 in an upcoming firmware update. Considering the size that this thing will be, since ND games tend to use a lot of unique assets, pre-loading is going to be a necessity instead of a convenience.

Great news about April pre-loading coming.

From ND on the ps blog comments:

Also, those of us who have already played the game can try it with the new difficulty setting they plan to release for the PS3 version, no doubt it'll be in the PS4 version.

I really hope the new difficulty ups the intelligence of the human AI. I hated how you could create kill rooms really easy as enemies just mosey into a room one at a time to be killed. I'd love to see more varied situations where enemies will just recognize you're holed up somewhere, and just wait you out while taunting you, or charging in with multiple people after throwing a grenade.

And I wonder if they'll add back in the female hunters as enemies since one of the reasons they were removed from the PS3 version was memory limitations as opposed to concerns about violence.

That's awesome.

Did we see late-gen games get remastered/re-released so quickly on the PS3 and 360? I'm trying to think of any games but nothing is coming immediately to mind.

I don't think we did, but that's probably because developing for those consoles was so complex that it just wasn't worth it at the time. With the PS4 and Xbox One, porting games over is relatively trivial. That's not to say that it's easy, but it's inexpensive enough that it can easily be be worth it.

The Godfather came out in March for the Xbox and then in September for the 360.

I actually remember being irritated that a bunch of games I had purchased for the Xbox were coming out for the 360 relatively quickly after its release, but The Godfather was the one that stuck in my mind the most, for some reason.

I couldn't tell you what those other games were, but it was enough that I was wary even buying Last of Us on PS3 because I thought this might happen.
