Looks really impressive.  I've never been a big MGS fan, but I'm definitely interested in this one!

There were a ton of neat touches in that trailer that show what next-gen games Should be doing.  I liked what was said about how the sixaxis was used.  All in all very nice looking.

as much as i like the look of this game,i am not sure about their views on releaseing metal gear solid online as a seperate game(i guess like shadowrun or counterstrike)...was that BLU-RAY disc all full because of the single player?...me thinks not

Even though I don't like the series much anymore, I do have to say that the game looks damn impressive. Definitely a next-gen title.

Some of the hiding in this game is just stupid.  I'm sorry, but the soldiers snake is fighting against are either blind or retarded.  "Hey weird, that floor seems to have some kind of bulge that looks strikingly like a human body.  Probably nothing.  Weird, one of those statues looks nothing like the other two and it is even wearing army gear.  Strange, but definitely couldn't be who we are looking for."

Graphics look nice other than a few funky animations(floor humping and roof diving).  Hate the stupid mini Metal Gear.

Though I still find myself wanting to play this game.  I like that it seems to have a better blend of action/stealth.

This is a problem I have with the games as well. So silly! But, the rest is so over the top and silly that it fits in ok and I end up not minding.

whoah!  actually gameplay and it looks cool!  Still, I'll probably pass as I don't feel like watching the first 3 games to understand what's going on.

Looks great, although the barrel attack, the mini-Gear, and the "men's magazine" all made me roll my eyes a bit.  But I guess it wouldn't be Metal Gear without a hefty scoop of overindulgence! slywink

Loved Snake's hair and ribbon thing blowing in the wind, and some nice animation moves too, like when he was lying flat on his stomach leaning over the ledge looking down.  Never been able to last all the way through a Metal Gear game before though, and I'd be really hesitant to start with this one, having no grounding in the crazy plot whatsoever.

Oh, and why does he grab that statue by the balls??

As far as the statue goes, they aren't looking for anyone in specific, they are on a patrol through the area.  They aren't locals and considering how the mind works, as long as the color matches and snake doesn't move, I can understand not noticing him there.

He does stand out quite a bit when against the wall or when lying on the floor.  That might be intentional so that the player doesn't lose track of the character....  or it just doesn't make sense and stands out more because of how realistic the rest of the game looks.

I just like how you don't have to go into the camouflage menu to select camo now.  However it's still an option when going into unfamiliar areas.

I hope he's dealt with the control scheme too.  I don't want to have to hold down some awkward buttons to remains in first person mode, but I do like how the FPS mode is really playable now.  Use of the sixaxis to lean around corners is one of the better uses of motion controls in an FPS.

I've never understood if some of the things in the MGS games Kojima means to be intentionally funny, a parody or is he totally serious about it.

i have always taken the MGS games as tongue in cheek style humour.... metal gear solid for the playstation(not so much the remake for GC),i thought took its self way to seriously, but that didnt stop it being a cracker of a game

i am wondering,do you think any MGS4 trailers will appear on the PSN?

i cant find any on there, maybe America and Europe content is totally different

in a magazine they had a poll, which was their favourite MGS game.....only 1 2 and 3 were there to pick,so sign of the early games, the ac!d games,or port ops

results were in

metal gear solid 3:snake eater was number 3 with 20% of the votes
metal gear solid was second with 30% of the votes and
metal gear solid 2:sons of liberty was first with 50% of the votes

i love all MGS games, but 2 is my least favourite(still great though)...my favourite is snake eater
