Hey all,

This is an odd problem and it did not start happening until after the latest update.

Audio output ia completely fine when I play games and movies from their disk or the HD, but, the moment I try to stream a movie the audio stops working completely. It actually stops all audio output and forces me to restart my receiver and ps3. Any solutions?

Sounds like you might be trying to use a sound format your receiver doesn't support, and this format is only enabled when streaming movies. You should be able to manually configure available sound modes in the settings somewhere. Turn off all configurations your receiver doesn't support. It might require a bit of fiddling before you get it right.

That is what I thought too..hmmm i can stream from xbox movies just fine in Dolby 5.1 but maybe the ps3 uses a different codec type.

For what it's worth, I had a similar problem with Mortal Kombat on the PS3. Half the sound would cut away, leaving just about only the reverb. Disabling a bunch of output formats on the PS3 itself solved the problem, but it took some time to find the right ones to disable (and which ones to leave enabled).

The receiver I  am using is the Sunfire Ultimate Receiver. When I get home I will try turning off some things.
