One thing that's a little unclear: the sticks are used for Nail the Trick mode, but are the standard face buttons used the rest of the time?  If so, I could certainly live with that.

Also, I love the idea that your stats improve the more you do things (a la Oblivion).  That makes infinitely more sense.

Something I might have mentioned in my preview - the team was asked to play with the analog sticks ONLY so they'd be able to really 'fix' that.  You can use the D-Pad OR the Analog.  Personally, I'm an analog user, so this is a Godsend.

I think what he was asking is that outside of the special mode, do you still use the other buttons for ollies, grabs, spins, flips-tricks, etc. or is it solely double-sticks for everything?

If you still use those other buttons, how smooth does it feel to switch control to the analog sticks when changing into Nail the Trick mode?  It seems as if this would be a bit incongruous and possibly confusing as well as a challenge for those of us who were already spazzing out trying to hit buttons quickly enough.

For Nail the Trick you have to use the analog sticks.  You 'simulate' your feet with both the sticks so there really is no other way.   Realize that Nail the Trick moves considerably slower than normal speed, so you won't be breaking the controller tryin to switch from one control method to the other.

Again, though, the question is when not using Nail the Trick, what controls are used?

So what is the control scheme for regular play, then?

You can use either the D pad or the analog sticks to control your skater.  You use the face buttons for grinds, ollies, etc.  Its pretty much the same as previous games, but the analog works. smile
