warning:  Jztemple may need a bucket before watching the video on this page.  it looks like they are going to have a nice mix of cars in it too.

Holy the crap! That was a hell of a trailer. Hope the sim lives up to it.

Is this a driving in the rain simulator or something?  I went to the offical site and 95% of the screenshots are showing wet cars.

They've released a blazing new trailer for E3.  The game will also be playable in the Playstation booth.  I have a feeling this game is going to eat Drive Club's lunch.

This was supposed to come out in November but has now been delayed until March 2015, both to avoid the overlap with many bigger name games and because they need more time to polish and finish it up for all platforms.

I think it will be better for them in the long run and allow them to make a bigger splash to have several months between their release and the other driving games of the fall/holidays (Forza Horizon 2, DriveClub and The Crew) and all of the other big launches between now and the holidays.  Too easy for a smaller mid-level game to get overlooked when directly competing against the AAA crowd and their marketing.

[as an aside, how sad is it that the other participants in this thread are mostly MIA?]

I guess I'm replying to myself once again.  There is a New "Start Your Engines" trailer preparing for launch.

I think they are getting ready to submit final builds for certification, so they should be hitting their March date.  Two months to go.  I'm really interested to see how this does on the market, it should be a mostly quiet time except for GTA V on PC.

Interesting... will have to see how it fares.  Speaking of 'driving in the rain simulators', saw this come up after the new trailer: DriveClub vs Project CARS Build 887 - Rain Weather Comparison and I have to say that (IMHO) DriveClub 'wins' that aspect of the simulation. Be curious to see how they compare when CARS officially launches.

Here's the launch trailer with more shiny cars and some beep boop music from Deadmau5 (since he's a fan/supporter).

I think only the PC version launches this week on Friday, with the PS4 and XB1 versions next Tuesday, at least in the US.

On the fence for a PS4 purchase. Might pull the trigger just due to a lack of anything else to play, but simulators generally aren't my thing anymore.

Review embargo is up today, and so far it looks pretty good.  Mostly in the 80-90 range with an average of 84 on PC right now.

I think the average would be a big higher without one outlier at 60 from ShackNews.  I read the review and it sounded like he just didn't want anything approaching a sim racer.  And he didn't recognize that instead of "new game modes" the variety in a racing game largely comes from the range of cars, disciplines and tracks available.  Oh well, not for everyone.

I'm definitely interested in this, but only for solo/offline playing, so any impressions on this aspect of the game would be appreciated. I'm off on vacation soon so I won't be considering getting it for a few weeks anyway.

That's an interesting article, especially the noting of the frame rate drop in the rain. I was wondering how much of a hit weather was going to be. Looking forward to an analysis of the PC performance, I'm hoping my GTX 780 is still going to be good enough to crank the graphics up to 11.

Obviously not a lot of discussion going on with the game, but in case anyone is interested, the publisher has announced a GOTY edition to be released soon, digital download only.

Quote
Namco Bandai must have really liked the enthusiastic response to Project Cars, as they will be releasing a Game of the Year edition. What will you get? Well how about 50+ new cars, 60+ community-created liveries and all 500+ improvements since launch. In essence, while that may seem like just all the updates and DLC, the crown jewel will be the infamous Pagani Huayra BC as seen in the trailer below. The Project Cars GOTY will be released soon on the PS4, Xbox One and PC as a digital download only per the trailer.
