Even after seeing videos and screenshots, I was still surprised at just how good the game looks.

The HD graphics are absolutely gorgeous, although the characters still have that telltale stiff and awkward movement that comes with PS2 games.

The thing that struck me, and I admit it is petty, is that Tidus' necklace is part of the torso model.  I know it seems silly but to have it quite clearly attached made it look odd.  I guess I am spoiled.

Still loving the game though.

Are you playing with the unlocked sphere grids so you can experiment more with your character builds, or do you fall into the camp of people who believe that just removes the safeguards preventing you from hobbling your party?

I went with the standard grid.  Partly because I didn't want to accidentally gimp my characters, and partly because the unique roles each character plays is a big part of the story.  Messing with that and making Yuna a melee fighter or Kimahri a healer would just mess with the core of the game, IMHO.

This is exactly why I went with Standard.  I think I had started to play this on PS2 but got rid of my PS2 and didn't play very much of it back at the time.  However, I have no memory of the beginning of this game...for some reason I remember it starting on a beach or something and it starts in a city.  At any rate, anxious to play both of these HD remakes to play these two games I never played.  So far, they look good on Vita.

I'm in the same boat. I started X on the PS2 back in the day but never got past the two hour mark, even though this type of Final Fantasy is my favorite. It seems like a mix between the PS1 era and XII and XIII. So I picked it up on the Vita, this time I vow to finish it. X-2 I'm not so sure about, but I will definitely finish X.

Same here, a remember a bit of it but not a lot, looking forward to giving it another go.
