Trying to invite CSL to play, but "Invite to game" is always ghosted out. How do you get someone into mp in RB2? I made a new band, and tried from various screens to no avail.
Sorry I couldn't play on Sunday - went out for a Rock Band party at a friends house without knowing that I needed to bring my entire X-BOX and not just the harddrive to access the RB1 songs and DLC. That put a slight damper in its awesomeness, downgrading it to merely flatout awesome when it would have been outrageously awesome. And this AC/DC pack seems like it will probably be just the same as the first track pack they put out for PS2 and Wii - allowing you to just DLC it.

I hope they offer it as DLC as well. I am only interested in a few of the songs. I do not want to spend $30 on the whole pack.

Same here. And if Walmart is the only way to buy it, then they lose 1 sale here. I haven't been into a walmart in over 18 months and I won't be going back for this.

Wow, now that is some stubbornness. With a pack as awesome as this, I would be willing to go into crack town to get it...Wal Mart is easy.

I don't even want the whole pack. And as far as stubborn goes, I'll take that as a compliment I hate WM and will not give them my money. Plus I don't like the idea of exclusives. If you have a product to sell, sell it. I'll grab a few of the songs from the in-game store as DLC if they go that route.

While I don't dislike them, if there ever was a band where if you have heard one of their songs you have heard them all, it's AC/DC.
They don't stray from the formula that much. I don't need 18 AC/DC songs. Just the basics will be fine.

You're going to tell me that Thunderstruck sounds the same as Back in Black sounds the same as Hells Bells?

You're going to tell me that Thunderstruck sounds the same as Back in Black sounds the same as Hells Bells? Not exactly the same. But you have to admit that they all follow the same formula. Those 3 plus Highway to Hell and Money Talks are about the only AC/DC songs I want.

If you want a bit of proof that AC/DC can sound different from their main formula, check out Ride OnIt's a pretty damn cool slow tempo, bluesy sound.

I could NOT do any kind of select option to try to setup the other characters.
What am I missing? On that tab for stand-ins, press the green button. That's what I'm saying. NO RESPONSE. I hit A. It works on the previous tab for designing logo, band quote. Just NOT on that tab. - shaggy To those who might be as dense as I am and wondering how this works: When joining into the "band" in tour mode, you can view the band profile by hitting the yellow button and selecting different tabs. One of these tabs allows you to edit the logo, quote, etc. The next tab shows you the permanent members & standins. THIS TAB IS NOT EDITABLE. Once you are on the screen that allows you to go to the Rock Shop, Continue Tour, etc, there is a Band Profile there. That is the only place I found that allows you to select the standins. Works beautifully. - shaggy

Just saw the official press release. The disheartening news: Rock Band Track Pack on Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 and Wii is MSRP $39.88 and MSRP $29.88 for the PlayStation 2 That's kinda pricey per track.

I bet they also are making it standalone, so it'll include the full game in it and require the disc to be in the system. If it didn't you'd probably have people passing it around and ripping the tracks to their HD's.

Items on the RB forums say the AC/DC disc will come with a code that you can then use to download the songs for RB1/RB2. Does that make the game disc something standalone though? Can you just buy that and play the songs? - shaggy

All tracks from the AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack will also be available for play in Rock Band and Rock Band 2[1][1] by entering a special export authentication code for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system versions. Looks like a standalone game with the ability to get the songs for RB1 and RB2.

Yeah... $40 for 17 songs (already have Let there be rock)... not that good a deal. Even at $30, it wasn't a great deal when compared to other track packs ($20 for 12 songs by the Who = win).
On one hand, it's AC/DC.
On the other... It's forty freaking dollars.
On the fence right now.

I think Ron said in his review that the entire port (you can delete individual songs) was 1.52GB or so.

I believe, though, you have to do the export first (use 1.52G) and then afterward you can go in and delete individual songs. Not sure what people who are pressed for space on their hard drives would do if they didn't have the space up front.

Here's more clarification on the AC/DC thing:
If you buy the disc you can export the tracks from the pack to Rock Band or Rock Band 2 at no extra charge by entering a special export authentication code from the manual, though an online connection will be required.
So, that answers whether it might cost to bring the tracks over. Also, it has been confirmed Wal-Mart and Sams only. I am definitely going to buy, since I love all of those AC/DC songs. The drums might not be exciting, but I love AC/DC's guitar.

so, if you're put off with the price but don't mind using the disc, you could split the cost with a buddy and have one of you use the code while the other uses the disc.

I have a question about DLC. If you've already done the transfer of RB1 tracks (including DLC) to RB2, what happens if you download new DLC in RB1 (we're waiting for the game to be bundled with the new instruments)? Do you have to re-export from RB1, or will any new DLC be automatically available in RB1 and RB2 as you've already downloaded the transfer "key"? I'm curious as there's some new DLC I'd like to grab but I don't want to hose the song transfer we've already done or mess anything up when we get RB2.

There was no transfer of RB1 DLC to RB2; the export only transferred RB1 disc songs, and likewise the transfer license key applies only to RB1 disc songs and not DLC. Rock Band DLC is just there, and accessible to both RB1 and RB2.

While checking on memory stuff, I found the key stored as a separate memory item on the HD. Don't delete it... I would imagine as long as it's present, you should be able to re-import at will, but I have nothing to back me up in that assertion.

I grabbed RB2 two days ago...it's my first foray into a rhythm game. I've been a musician for 20+ years now and never thought I'd enjoy something like this, yet I figured it would be something that my lady and I could goof off with. We haven't had a chance to play together yet...but I stayed up to the wee hours of Thursday morning having a blast myself. I haven't set up my drums yet, but I'm really looking forward to doing that later tonight after my actual rehearsal. Hehe...skipping out on the guys early to play a video game about music. Is that wrong? Quick question though. Having random NPC bandmates for every show during the World Tour play is driving me bonkers...is there a way to create toons that would be constant?

Quick question though. Having random NPC bandmates for every show during the World Tour play is driving me bonkers...is there a way to create toons that would be constant?
Yes, there's a way - i had the same question earlier in the thread. Thing is, I can't remember the exact steps to do so at the moment. I'm sure one of the guys will post the how-to here soon, or you can search back in this thread. I still haven't actually got around to doing it myself, but I think I will today. edit: looks like the directions for this are on page 5 of this thread.
