How many dead pixels are normal? I have two on the top screen, right near the center. Rather than be a complainer, I'll see if I can live with it (at least until the store gets a new shipment and I can consider an exchange).

I was just about to post the same thing, only for PSP instead of DS. My last DS Lite I had zero dead pixels, and if I had any, I would have promptly brought it back to the store for a new one and kept doing so until I got a perfect one. (You're paying good money for it so why shouldn't you get a good screen?) I have a hard time with even ONE dead pixel because for some reason my eyes seem to only concentrate on that one area. Once you know it's there, it's hard to ignore it. My current PSP has 5 dead pixels, 2 on the bottom right, one in upper right, one in upper left, and one in the middle left. Since I bought it off of ebay (new - at a pretty good price) I have no choice but to live with it.. But if you bought your DS from a store (as it sounds) then by all means, return that bitch for a good one!

My large DS had one on the top of the screen that was almost unnoticeable, luckily, my Lite has zero.
I hated my PSP, it had dust under the screen, it drove me nuts.

Really unusual to see pixel problems on a DS, though I have seen it (a cluster of dead pixels in that instance). I'd exchange it.

Thanks for the input. I'd heard that the dead pixel problems were gone in the DS Lite, but this morning I was dismayed to see a few. Unfortunately my dictionary program primarily displays white on the top screen, so it's going to get irritating fairly quickly. Guess I'll wait till a new shipment comes in and exchange.

3 DS's in the house, never a dead pixel. 2 of them did die due to something with their chargers, neitehr of those had dead pixels. All purchased at Costco, if I ever did get a dead pixel, I would refund it in a second.

i have 1 that has been there since i first took it out of the box. its on the bottom screen. i told myself before i bought the ds that if i had any id return it, but when i actually got one i realized two things - 1) i REALLY wanted to play the ds without getting a new one and 2) i cant even notice it in game
really, i was surprised because i thought it would drive me nuts and be a deal breaker but when i actually saw one in action i realized i just didnt care / it wasnt that big a deal (and im actually pretty anal)

The monitor I am viewing this on has 1 dead pixel off the center.
It takes most people that come over at least 10-15 minutes of heavy searching to find it. So indeed, dead pixels aren't really a big deal. But if I had purchased this monitor at Costco, It would be going right back for a different one. Too bad I Purchased it before I belong there!

I don't have any on my DS, thank god. That would bother me a lot.
I do have a stuck pixel at the upper left of my monitor. It's pretty much impossible to notice though, so I don't really care.

Usually it amounts to someone talking about the monitors, and I say "Yeah, only bad part of that one is the dead pixel near the center". Which then results in them staring at it to find it, and sometimes not, other times taking awhile. But I don't force the issue on them.

I had one when I purchased my DSL, but I turned right around and swapped the unit out immediately (in the center of the screen so it would be very noticeable). My current DSL has none.

eugh...no i havent got any dead pixels on my DS lite or my PSP and never had any on my first version of the DS either, and hopefully i never will have
i would say change it,incase more of them start to pop up,you shouldn't have to put up with it,no matter where they are on the screen

None on my original DS, DS Lilte, or PSP.
And I don't think there is really any reason to try and live with it on the DS's- IIRC, Nintendo is one of the few companies that will replace your product if yoiu have even one dead pixel.
