D3 gave me the urge to try some other ARPGs I have so I fired this up from my GOG shelf. It does widescreen, at least. But man, this thing is tough going. I wanted to go ranged and I finally got in good shape against common enemies, but the tougher guys I'm running around, downing potions, using my healing spell and sometimes porting out completely. Last fight my bow broke and I was hitting a mob with my bare hands all of a sudden before he squashed me. And I forgot to save a bunch of progress.

Question: if I manage to get through this, is there any value in playing Beyond Divinity?

It’s been a long time since I played it but I remember this game very fondly.  As a ranged character I think you can use the environment to your advantage.  If you see barrels or tables drag them into doorways before a fight and make yourself a barricade.  If I recall correctly every item in the game has a weight value and if you increase your strength high enough you can move some things you generally wouldn’t think possible.  Hopefully I’m not remembering this wrong and giving you bad advice.   icon_smile

Never played Beyond Divinity aside for the demo, I didn't like that it focused on two pre-made characters.

Ah good point, I hadn't thought of that. Don't know if it will help at the point I'm working on, but I'll remember it.

The other thing that might be hurting me is that I'm playing a "good" character and I'm not stealing from inside people's houses icon_lol I'm not hurting for money, though and seem to have the best armor I can get at this point.
