New paper Mario game announced for the GC: Super Paper Mario. Not sure if this is port of the first Paper Mario game or an all new title: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n10/e3_2006/gc/

That looks cool, I want to know if it is going to be an RPG or a platformer.

Nice.
Edit: A platformer? Never mind then.

Meh. These games have steadily gone downhill since Super Mario RPG (no great surprise, as that's the only one Square was involved with).
Quite frankly all the platforming elements just piss me off. Paper Mario 2 wasn't so bad in that respect, but those Mario & Luigi games on the GBA/DS were just painful.

An RPG would have been nice (although I would assume we'll see Paper Mario Wii, which should be amazing), but a new 2D Mario platformer is always welcome.

I think this game looks really cool! I always thought a platformer in this style would be neat. Now I get to find out!

Sounds really really tempting. Might have to check it out if the reviews are good.

Ugh, a Paper Mario themed platformer might be interesting, but don't we already have New Super Mario Bros. to satisfy that need? Also, what's up with all the math themed levels?
Being the world's #1 Paper Mario mark, I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed after looking through the videos/screenies.

More info from Nintendo's Press Kit: What at first glance appears to be a 2-D sidescroller ripped straight from the pages of the Paper Mario universe soon turns into a 3-D action-adventure that defies all video game logic. Fusing 2-D and 3-D perspectives, not to mention RPG and platformer elements, the game slips back and forth between dimensions. The action sprawls across eight worlds filled with traps, puzzles, bizarre mysteries and items that often draw themselves out of thin air. Sounds... different

I'm onboard for Paper Mario anything. I'd prefer RPG a la Thousand Year Door, but I love platformers too so I'm pretty much there regardless.

Huh, sounds a lot like the previous Paper Mario games!
If the writing is half as good as it's predecessor and the GBA games, it will be worth owning. I love me some Paper Mario.
I wouldn't have mind a Paper Luigi title either, because his story was hilarious in PM2

RPGamer is calling it an action-RPG with heavy platforming elements. It's being done by the makers of PM1 and 2, so I have high hopes.

My logic, it's... it's been... DEFIED! RPGamer is calling it an action-RPG with heavy platforming elements. I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Waaah I don't agree and thus am making it personal waaah waah. Come on Eb. You're looking for things to get personal, otherwise you'd just shut your trap, since you're not adding anything at all to the discussion. Atleast be straight cowboy.
