When you get to 5 quality posts you can submit your name.   The beta doesn't start until the 8th so you have some time...

Thanks for the key!

My son will love this game... although that means he has to sign onto not only my ID, but my 360 as well. Perhaps I didn't really think this through... retard

This is a hell of a lot of fun.  The only reason I'm not still playing is that I'm starting to develop "Trigger forearm" on my right side.  It's a really cool-looking Mario Kart kinda thing for the 360.  If we got a good group together that are going to buy it, this would be a day 1 purchase for me, something I usually only reserve for Modern Warfare.

Tried it out with some random people.  Had no expectations and was pleasantly suprised how good it is.  Going to play more tomorrow....

It's a really cool-looking Mario Kart kinda thing for the 360.

Pretty much what I was thinking, mario kart with good graphics and licensed cars. Of course, I find mario kart pretty boring. I don't know that I'd actually buy it unless I knew it had a strong single player component. The multi is fun, but I'm not big on multi.

I played a couple of hours last night.  It definitely surprised me in how fun it was to play.

I linked my Twitter account to the game, but it never sent any tweets.  Not sure if that's working yet.

Yeah, grown-up Mario Kart is definitely what this is.  I'm surprised no one tried this before.

One brilliant addition:  Giving the Turbo an Air Brake ability if thrown backwards.  So obvious!

I also love how you can avoid nearly everything, given the right amount of time and/or ammo, but you don't always have that time or ammo.  Well-balanced.

My only real gripes are that I had one race with a much higher ranked participant, and once we started we never saw him again.  I came in second by a long shot and that guy was, like, 30 seconds ahead of me*; also, a lot of tracks seem to be plucked nearly wholesale from previous Gotham games.

Overall, I was going to do 2 races to try it out, and I did 5.

*They do limit what cars you use in some races, though, and I'm sure filters when enough people are playing will keep this from being a big issue.

They do a good job with different handling types.  Level cap for the beta is 10 (which I hit last night before going to bed).  There are four racing types available, although the first two are all I've played so far and seem to vary only based on the number of people in the room.  No evident lag issues seen as of yet.

The advancement seems very familiar in a Call of Duty method.  You can have three perks from mutually exclusive tracks and there was a tip mentioning 50 levels and 10 prestige-type levels, so the legs are sure to be there for those who like the game.

Dumb question. I requested a key and got the email this morning. I wanted to give the key to my buddy as I'm pretty sure I won't use it. Is it already tied to my gamertag since that was in the email we had to send? I'll just keep the code for myself if that's the case..

Watched my son play last night. Much more polished and better sense of speed than when I saw it in September. Any race with a large number of people imploded and we eventually gave up.

We all got (or will get) them I assume, so I'm sending mine off to my "non-GT" friends. Don't know what the heck is wrong with them, maybe this will help bring them into... The Fold.  icon_wink

I'm assuming they miscalculated demand for their beta, badly - they might not want to open it up to tens of thousands, yet, but it seems reasonable to me that they're only seeing a tiny percentage of the distributed beta keys redeemed, and a smaller percentage actually used for more than a couple of minutes.

Yeah, I'm not much of a cart racing fan. I'll probably try it again at some point, but BC2 has my attention at the moment.

Played for about an hour tonight. On the surface it looks like a game that I would really be into. But I just wasn't. I did ok, coming in 2, 3 and 4 at least. But nothing about it really grabbed me, and it just felt a bit... repetitive.

It's true - I still have a bunch of keys left.  *shrug*  It's not much of a lure when everyone has it, ya know?

I tried this one out over the weekend.  Its not bad.  The driving is good and about what you would expect from the guys that made the Project Gotham series.  There was quite a bit of polish for a beta and I'd like to try some single player, but I'm just not sure that this sort of thing would interest me in the long run.  Sometimes it seemed very easy to go from first to last place without really knowing what happened.

You'd think they would have coded the program to remove codes like that.

More fun with pre-order bonuses:

Quote
GameStop will net you an "Exclusive Multiplayer Advantage Booster Kit" which unlocks a Ford Bronco and an exclusive "Last Man Standing" multiplayer survival mode, as well as a "Double Fans" bonus for the first ten multiplayer races, which increases your ability to earn money.

Those who pre-order from Game Crazy will receive double cash for the first three single-player races.

And purchasing the game on the release date from Best Buy gets a code to unlock a Dodge Hennessey Viper.
