90/100 from me - review goes live in an hour.

Oops, did I accidentally post 17 videos of various things on our Youtube channel?  Well, hell....guess I did.

https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingTrendVideos

Been playing it non stop for the last five days.  My eyes are bloodshot and I'm very tired, can I can't wait to keep playing more tomorrow.   Yea, it's that kind of good.

'Grats on your currently prominent placement on the metacritic listings! That's gotta be getting you some traffic.

At the old 59.99 pricing I'd be in. With the new 69.99 pricing Sony put in place, it's a wait until later. The $10 jump has crossed some kind of mental barrier for me that is making me REALLY selective about new release purchases.

Where is it $70? On Amazon I'm seeing the PS4 version at the good ol' fashioned $60 price.

Ugh. Yeah, I think I'd have the same mental block as you at $70. It somehow makes it seem like "almost $100" instead of "almost $50."

Yep, that and with the 13% tax rate here in Ontario it's about $79 when it's all said and done. The game has to be a no-doubter for me to pay that type of cash.

Keep up all the impressions posts. I'm in Bismarck ND, far away from home in Florida and won't be able to download the PC version (which is what I'd be getting if I got it) till late next week.

I'm about 1 1/2 hours away from trying the game out. I'll post impressions later.

Think I'm going to switch to the Xbone version. While I want it more for single player than multiplayer, the fact remains I have 100+ Xbox friends and 1 PS4 friend. My best buddy in RL is also getting it for the Bone so it just makes sense to go where I have more opportunity.

Like yellowking I to will be going xbox One.  X1 controles for these types of gmes are better for me I hate how Ps uses the right bumper  to shoot instead of the right Trigger. Then there is the friends list of course.

RPS has mixed feelings about it it seems. From what I have read, the PC version sounds a bit rough around the edges.

PS4 uses triggers to shoot.  The controller is rather different from the PS3 controller.

Well, PC version has some issues (needs newest drivers, has NO way short of editing an ini file to turn off mouse acceleration, frankly almost might play better with a controller than with mouse/keyboard), but I'm really enjoying it so far.

PC users, you might want to visit here:
http://guide4games.net/watch-dogs-pc-performance-guide-crashes-multiplayer-issues-workarounds/

I was certain I was going to pick up Watch Dogs, but I'm still not sure which version I'm going with.  The PC version has the promise of a better frame rate and better visuals, but at the expense of all the time I'll spend fiddling with Ubisoft's port to make things work properly.  The PS4 version is a known quantity, but TiLT and Caine have made several valid points convincing me that I'd be better off extracting my corneas with a length of uncooked corkscrew pasta.

It's a toughie.  Have you tried connecting a controller to your PC to see how it handles?

-Autistic Angel

Not sure where I became the target of an AA™ post, but I'm going with the PS4 version myself due to some issues that were brought up with AMD cards.

Although I'm now seeing that the source may be mis-represented.  I'm looking for some comparison videos.

Now here's the part that doesn't make ANY sense:

The current generation consoles ARE AMD PROCESSORS AND ATI GRAPHIC CARDS. Why the HELL are things like this happening? Is this NVidia just buying their way into a 'hopefully better PC market'?

Why am I asking this? Of course they are.

Anyhow: PC version is a lot of fun. Very solid and runs great with good hardware. The game is VERY VERY VERY designed for a controller however. Vehicle acceleration seems to be 'tap W for slow speed, tap W again to go to fast, tap W again to go full throttle'. There's like no inbetween at all.

And navigating the shop screens? There's no mouse arrow. There's no WASD support for these huge lists of things to buy (like if you're in a weapon or clothing shop). Just keep moving the mouse down and down and down and down and down and down.

The game just SCREAMS 'PC port'.

The Forbes author of that post has tested and found that the game is just not optimized well for either system compared to similar games of equal or better graphical quality.  Although, he's using Metro Last Light as the comparison and that isn't the best game to use imo as their focus is clearly different.  Still, the overall results are decent enough even if they don't hit 1080p@60fps

I think once they get a few patches under their belt it will polish out the rough spots.

Oh bloody hell! Sony fucked up the pre-orders for this game. The game is fully installed on the PS4, but money hasn't been withdrawn from my account, and the license hasn't been activated. It seems everyone who pre-ordered on PSN got hit by this. Apparently they are activating pre-orders in waves right now and estimate to be done within the next few hours, at which point I have to manually restore my licenses, but this sucks. The game should have been unlocked for me over 17 hours ago.

I hate it when games are all over the board in reviews.   It totally throws me off in deciding whether to buy it or not.    Ron loving it further complicates my decision.   If he hated it, I'd already have marked it off the list.

Went with the Xbone version due to peer pressure.  icon_biggrin

Unfortunately the Gamestop woman gave me a hard time.

GS: "You're going to lose your pre-order bonus which is an extra mission blah blah blah."
YK: "I don't care."
GS: "Are you sure? Because you're going to lose all of it. You're going to lose an HOUR of gameplay."
YK: "Yeah, I really don't care. All my real life friends are going Xbox for this one, so I want to stay on the same platform."
GS: "Well, next time you should really make up your mind before you pick up the game. Our system is automated so I can't give you the bonuses now."
YK: "I don't care about the bonuses!"
GS: "I see you have Destiny pre-ordered for Xbox One. <sarcastically> Are you sure you don't want to change your mind?"
YK: "FUCK YOU SMARTASS. JUST GIVE ME MY GODDAMN GAME."

Ok I didn't say that last part, but I REALLY wanted to.

I agree with your last post though MSD.  I'm going to wait a bit, though Ron's review is pushing me a bit,  my plan has been to trade in infamous for this now that I've beaten it.  Not sure now though, and despite any previous studies, review embargoes like this are not a good sign (note, not necessarily a bad sign either).

Even Jeff at GiantBomb said he had fun with it. His main complaint was that it didn't really do much to differentiate itself from open world games that have come before it. While I certainly wish it flipped the genre on its head, I don't mind a good open world game to sink my teeth into even if it's derivative of others.

I get the feeling from reading the reviews that those who gave it the lower scores were let down from the hype more than anything. They wanted Game of the Year-caliber innovation and got just a good open world game with lots of content.

I probably won't get a chance to post impressions until much later tonight. Finding time to dig into this monster is going to be the more challenging "game" for me.
