I fixed my post yesterday about an hour after posting to include the front page story..I AM trying to help, honest!! icon_biggrin

><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><

PS3 and PS4 versions of Watchdogs will include an hour of extra content,as this is from Ubisoft...Assassins Creed 3 also had an extra hour or so of extra content on the PS3(I wonder if AC:Black Flag will do the same)

This game was the only reason I saw to buy a PS4 at launch. Didnt know it was coming out on every platform. Now I see no reason not to wait for a ps4.

Well, with this coming out November 19th, and I'm assuming the new consoles will hit around then as well if they want to get in on the Black Friday sales madness, you probably won't have to wait for a PS4 much, if at all.

sounds like the Gamestop pre-order is more useful, and since Green Man probably won't have this available for NA since it's a Ubisoft title I'll probably grab that pre-order for the PC version.

new interview about the game.  they talk about platform differences, but I only paid attention to the one that mattered to me:

Quote
Ravi Sinha: What graphical options can players expect from the PC version?

Francis Boivin (Team Lead Programmer): Disrupt was developed to have state of the art visuals on all its quality levels. We needed to have AO, massive dynamic light support, HDR, GI, depth of field, etc. to fully realize the ambition of art direction. We improved on techniques that we worked on in the past and surveyed what was available for the highest level of quality we wanted to achieve. We didn’t just integrate the technique of the moment, but spent quite some time turning stuff around and mixing algorithms so they fit our requirements.

sounds cool, I may or may not be sliding a new GTX 780 into my rig by the time this comes out, it all depends on how much I want to expand my gaming budget this fall.

I am still unsure about AC4,the AC series for me has become a little like COD,i say i wont buy it...end up buying it and end up being unimpressed

however,i saw a gameplay video the other day of AC4 and it looked good(tropical island free running)

as for Watch Dogs,I want the game, but it seems its only GTA5 that i really HAVE to have on day one...Watch Dogs i may very well wait until next gen and pick it up then

AC4 will be a PC purchase, and probably a wait for a sale one at that, which means that I'll be waiting longer since it is already delayed a month.

I'm in for something here, not the $130 but I am willing to bet I am the only one buying it on the wii u. I have a feeling the gamepad is going to be killer for this title.

We've got some new hacking gameplay for Watch Dogs this morning:

http://gamingtrend.com/2013/08/13/watch-dogs-shows-off-new-hacking-gameplay/

This and Pirates of the Assassin's Creed IV: The Swashbuckling Awesomesauce are my two most-anticipated next-gen titles so far.

Judging from that video, it looks like the PS4 version might integrate pretty well with the friends list. Among other things, the player sees the other player's profile pic when "invading" him. It's probably going to mean a better online experience, and with WAY less risk of running into cheaters.

details on the mobile app from Ubi.  thankfully you have to accept the challenge if you have MP turned on, someone with the app can't just start doing random things to other peoples games while they're waiting in line at the deli.

above recommended specs except on the CPU.  I've got a 6-core instead of the 8.  with as high as these are, I wonder what the side by side comparison will be against the next gen versions?

Get used to this type of minimum specs, people. Now that the 360 and PS3 aren't going to be the baseline for games any more, PC specs will be expected to be comparable to the new consoles. This means multiple cores and lots of RAM. I believe Watch Dogs is the first game I've seen that requires an x64-version of Windows, but this is also going to become increasingly common very quickly. There will be a massive jump in minimum specs for PC games now, but it will slow down again in a year or two.

hmmm...  they are recommending an 8 core CPU, but list a 4 core i7 in the example.  I'm assuming hyper threading comes into play there.

[edit]  heh, just going to wait until it is released and see how it runs before deciding whether or not to upgrade to the ultra recommendations.

Yeah, they are probably referring to hyperthreading otherwise I think that AMD is the only one with a physical 8 core model...
If they include hyperthreading, I am good on all counts...

They are actually higher. Now they're more in line with what I had expected. Among other things, the new 6 GB minimum amount of RAM is exactly what I expect to be the case for most AAA games made for the next-gen consoles going forward. This is roughly the same amount of RAM they can use on these consoles, after all. It used to be that 2 GB left you with enormous reserves compared to what the 360 and PS3 used, but now that RAM is no longer the console bottleneck, things are about to change. For the better.

Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
    nVidia GeForce GTX460 or better, GT500, GT600, GT700 series;
    AMD Radeon HD5850 or better, HD6000, HD7000, R7 and R9 series
    Intel® Iris™ Pro HD 5200

however, all the articles posting this new info link to the uPlay store page for the game, which does not have them listed.  Not sure if they've been taken back down again, and the directions given at the end of the article always end me up on the US store page for the game.

As crazy as it looks, it's going to be nice to see PC games really use all the hardware I've got in this PC. I already use high end stuff for my 3D work, but a secondary excuse was for games.

luckily if I have to upgrade all I have to do is the CPU (i7 3770 is the same socket as my mobo), but I may forgo my planned used Ps3 purchase (sorry Ni No Kuni, you will have to wait) and better use that money towards a i7-3930K, which would require a new mobo.  while I'm at it I might as well toss in 16 gig of RAM.

and maybe another SSD drive....

perhaps a blu ray drive as well....

and I could always use another GTX 780....

hey, I could go with water cooling as well......
