Ubi just said that the game will be coming to 360 and PS3, so it is not specifically next gen.

The Xbox and the Playstation 2 had some really great looking titles at the end of their generation cycle.  Seems like Watch Dogs is squeezing everything that the 360 and PS3 has.

The game looks great graphically, but I was more impressed by the crowd interactions. They just seemed real. Of course, the demo could've been completely scripted for all I know, but if it wasn't that is pretty groundbreaking.

Definitely intrigued.  I've gotten fairly burned out on the usual GTA-like "sandbox" genre, so this looks like a welcomed change and update on the gameplay, content, intrigue, and storytelling.

wow.  if this is as good as it looks I will be a very happy gamer when it comes out.  this looks like a great mix of gta/deus ex/hitman and it has a great engine.

sweet.  the first one was a pleasant surprise and I still get a kick out of the combat mechanics.  the only game I know of in recent memory that lets you decap limbs and break bones with noticeable effect.

The Xbox and the Playstation 2 had some really great looking titles at the end of their generation cycle.  Seems like Watch Dogs is squeezing everything that the 360 and PS3 has. 

I seriously doubt that demo was running on a 360 or a PS3. They just have too large limitations for that to work. What you saw was probably running on PC.

Ohhh, looks very cool. Very atmospheric. Love how everything looked fluid, with everyone reacting naturally. Wonder if it's using the Assassin's Creed engine as the symbol above people's heads remind me of it.

It's incredible to me how this came from out of nowhere to basically be everyone's most anticipated game.

Honestly, I cannot wait.

I hope we're not waiting until Holiday 2013 (or beyond), but I suspect that'll probably be the case.

Conspiracy time:Is Watch Dogs actually Assassins Creed 4?

Why Watch Dogs COULD be an Assassin's Creed game

- It's a game about assassinating people.

- The 'Ubisoft Presents' title at the start of the demo is very reminiscent of the AC games.

- When the hero picks up info using his phone at 1.32, it's the exact same visual device they use for blending in Assassin's Creed 3

- The Animus evolves every game, and so much of Watch Dogs looks 'in Animus'. Even the mini-map looks similar.

- Joseph DeMarco presents 'Dot Connexion' is written on the theatre. Is this a tease, inviting us to guess how the game is connected to other things? Or is it just a reinforcement of the core gameplay mechanic? (Everything is connected, so you can hack it all etc)

- He does look like a modern day Assassin. His hat is his hood, his phone is his wrist-blade.

- At 3.02. Look at the wall on the right. Looks like memory sequences from AC.

- The end line says 'Everything is connected. Connection is power'.

Why Watch Dogs definitely ISN'T an Assassin's Creed game

- Ubisoft like to share tech and ideas (Splinter Cell uses Assassin's Creed climbing animations, Ghost Recon uses large text floating in the sky like Splinter Cell Conviction etc). Everything in Watch Dogs is most likely Ubisoft sharing their ideas and tech.

- Watch Dogs already has a load of buzz. Why have one exciting brand when you can have two?

I seriously doubt it is,but it would be funny if it turned out to be true

It's hard to milk a game with two or three stand alone expansions if you release the sequel right away.

Probably around the holidays.  This game will be a PC purchase for me as long as the DRM isn't crippling

Honestly, 2013 as a launch title for the next gen consoles.

And the only reason they're able to do this is that those new consoles will be running very PC-like hardware and APIs.

wow, I'm going to have to pay attention to the Wii U version.  I imagine having the gamepad will open up some nice interactivity.

Might have to do a double dip with that and the PC version.

You may think so now, but just wait until you see actual comparison vids later this year and begin to notice the draw-in, poor textures, low framerate, low resolution (less than 720p) and spotty AI in the PS3/360 version. The PS4/Durango version will most likely have high-quality textures and effects, 60 fps (or close to it) framerate, 1080p resolution, and better AI. These things may seem very conceptual right now, but they'll become increasingly obvious as we get closer to the new console's release.

If you look at the specifications of the PS4 look, you see that it looks pretty on a PC. Is porting games to PC and vice versa PS4 and therefore easier?

Yves: We have, in my opinion, but a game that had really had problems with a port and that's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The PC project could be better managed. But with the other brands there is a lot of time and effort in which all platforms have the perfect game.

We also expect fewer problems with porting games to the PS4 than the PS3, which had a completely different infrastructure. It is now easier. Previously, we developed first games on the Xbox 360 and which were then translated into the PS3. It took a lot of time and money to make that port. Now we develop from the PC and which versions are translated into a console like the PlayStation 4.

I've already decided to do that with all the games that are coming out on next-gen consoles. I'd rather wait a few months and get the optimal experience, if I even have to do that.
