Figured I'd open our first DS game thread.

What control scheme are you guys using? I'm having a tough time getting used to this thumb/pen thing!

Just tried playing again and it's getting really frustrating. This game isn't made to be played with a touch screen like this.

I hope there are codes to unlock the other mini-games. I can't see myself playing through the whole game like this.

I'm having no problems NOT using the pen/thumb deal for this game.  Plays great.

On the other hand, the Metroid demo clearly needs to be played that way, but aside from the awkward switching to missiles, it works pretty well for me.

I can't get my the character I'm controlling to face the right way at all.  :x

Maybe I'll go without the thumb/pen for a while...

PLayed it today, worked well for me, but I only used the buttons. I got a few stars but played the mini games for a while. actually pretty fun mini games. I agree that I hope there are more you can unlock. If there was one game for the DS that I could just give hours and hours too, I would get it now. But there arnt.   Not yet at least.

I recommend "Feel The Magic" for anyone who picks up a DS. At least it's a game that was actually made for the system it's on!

Same here.  And the other three I really like.  Spidey's the weakest (and it's hard), Mario is the richest (never played the N64 version, so I'm very excited), and Feel the Magic is best use of hardware (may also be the best game, if a little shallow).

I will get Ridge Racer, though, unless the reviews are just awful.

I'm curious to see the PSP's little joystick and how that'll change things.  Really, we just need these portable machines to have all the buttons available on current consoles.

Mario definitely needs a view-control stick.

i like using the stylus in lieu of the control stick - seems to have better and more precise 'analog' control.  it's closer to a mouse than a control stick, in any case.
