I always assumed this would never happen for that very reason.

I kinda figured they'd get to the LEGO Back to the Future game, but I guess it'd be too soon with the line still getting ready to launch.

Anyway, IN.

They keep the basic formula, but have made significant changes along the way.  Plus, the new settings really do make a difference.

Also, they're fun.

This.  I've played them all, except the Harry Potter ones, which I somehow missed, but need to get around to picking them up.  I really just have a ton of fun with them.  The games are cute and I always love the subject matter, plus I really love Legos.  It's just an awesome combination.

Interesting.  I tried the demos for first Indiana Jones and the Batman’s.  They seemed amusing but weren’t something I could see playing on my own and getting people to play local is very difficult.  With online co-op I would be much more likely to play them.

The HP ones are my favorites so far, although the new LOTR may be overtaking them.

I love the LEGO games, but I do hope they beef up the combat in this game.  I know they want to keep it simple, but combat is usually the weakest element in these games.

CVG have a preview of this

Quote
There was a moment during the Lego Marvel Super Heroes demo when we genuinely glanced down at the supplied docs to check if it was running on a PS4. It wasn't - just the humble old Xbox 360.

Much more on the preview(obviously),screenshots and also an interview with Producer Phil Ring in the link

Sounds as though its gonna be great

Oh,and Tony Stark/Iron Man>>spot on icon_biggrin

looks cool, I'll probably end up renting it at the very least.  it seems that if I buy the LEGO games I end up regretting it since I usually get tired of collecting stuff halfway through.

of course I could try avoiding the collectible aspect.....

I found the trick to be not focusing on collectibles your first time through the game.  Once you finish you should have enough studs to pick up the major red bricks that make things easier.

This is true.  But if you can find a 2x and 4x red brick on the first playthrough, they help a lot and will make everything else easier.

But playing on story mode should be quick and painless, without worrying about getting all the studs or finding all the stuff.  It makes the free play more fun anyway.
