that CGI video is... odd.  it makes it feel more like a horror survival game along the lines of Turistas or any other horror movie where it's a foreigner out of his depth being hunted by locals.

then why does it not come up when i put in Far Cry 3 in the search bar???,i get fucking Dark Souls,Modern Warfare 3,Skyrim and some freaky spelling DS game(Solatorobo)to name a few on the first page ...at least i get Far Cry Instincts near the bottom of the page

Yeah the search in this forum is kinda crap. I have trouble finding stuff too.

On topic, I should at least give FC2 a play since it's still sitting in my backlog.

one thing I have found with search is that if you search like so with quotation marks surrounding the game's name:

"far cry 3"

it'll search for those three words all together instead of searching for any instances of far and cry and 3.

yeah i knew you were making a typical CK remark,its just i couldn't figure out why mine was coming up with bizarre findings while you had the thread found,and i still would of guessed it would of been in the search somewhere...the Quotations will help though thx




so,I didn't play Far Cry 1,i couldn't get into Instincts or predator whichever was on the 360 (got half way i think)so this reminds me more of Just Cause or maybe actually Crysis 1,it looks great...i am guessing i wont need to play the first games will I?..its not a continuation of past games is it?

nope, they've all been standalone games (i.e. Far Cry and it's iterations, Far Cry 2 and now this).  thankfully they dropped the sci fi element from the first game in the second, and from what I've seen this one probably won't go that route either.

hopefully they keep the fire element in the game, otherwise I'm gonna miss the burning plains from FC2.

multiplayer beta

Ubisoft will be running a two-week multiplayer beta on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this summer for its upcoming action shooter, Far Cry 3.

Obtaining a beta invite is a matter of buying Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier at GameStop when it comes out on May 22nd, or hoping to snag one of the codes Ubisoft will be giving away through its social channels at Facebook and its community sites and partners.

2 month delay

Far Cry 3 has been delayed until 30th November in the UK for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, Ubisoft has announced.

It was previously slated to come out in September.

Far Cry 3's North American release is now 4th December.
