ugh,for the love of...The new instalment, is said to take place in a heavily destroyed New York which has become "almost a jungle", thus combining the settings of the first and second games. New York....again

You know a game is off on the wrong foot when one of the first pieces of information we're provided reveals that they're cutting corners (ie. reusing assets from both the previous games instead of making new ones).

New York....again I don't know: Crytek's apparently promised to deliver "the best sandbox FPS in the market" - strong words backed up by its earlier comments to CVG that the game looks "stunning". the bolded bit has my attention.

I have no doubt that i will love the game, that's not what i am moaning about I don't live in New York City and i have never been there, but i am sick to the tits of it...2 things that have been done to death in video games and that's Zombies and New York City, especially when the second game was set there, and i remember thinking the same thing when we saw that footage of the Metlife Building coming down...plenty of other places in the U.S. anyway the official announcement will be on April 16th

Crysis 1 is on Xbox Marketplace Games On Demand 1600 points(1840 in UK,£14.99),Crysis 2 is on Games On demand as well for 2400 points(£19.99)but you can easily find that cheaper in stores or on Amazon I played the second one first because that was first to Xbox, and i enjoyed it but a lot of other people weren't as happy with it,then i played Crysis 1 and they give you so much more freedom with the first one,a great big tropical island, and you can take out bad guys however you wish(you could in the second one as well, but your choices seem more natural in the first) both great games IMO though Crysis 2 had multiplayer, but it wasn't really my thing,so i wont really comment on that apart from they had the COD4 thing with the killstreaks(3,5 and 7 kills) I went to look at the prices for PSN,forgot it was down due to maintenance (the one time i needed it.....blah blah.. )

Reviews are coming in MetacriticMultiplayer.it 90 IGN Italia 85 Game Informer 85 GamesBeat 85 IGN 85 Official Xbox Magazine 85 Digital Spy 80 Joystiq 80 GameSpot 75 Destructoid 75 GamesRadar 70 Eurogamer 70 VideoGamer 60 CVG gave it 8.5,but they also mentioned that the game is only 5-6 hrs long(yes you are in Crysis 3's thread not the Metal Gear Rising Revengeance thread) There is also this What was, in Crysis 2's time, a minor rift between PC and console has now deepened into a titanic gulf. On a high-end PC, it's five-to-six hours of constant gawping awe; on consoles, inevitable graphical compromises means Crysis 3 loses that spark and spectacle. A note of caution for PC owners, however. We were told you'd need to crossfire four of the latest graphics cards to max out the experience. One Nvidia GTX 680, for instance, costs £400. That's upwards of £1500. For Crytek, this is the ultimate benchmarking tool, the theory being you'll return to the game in four or five years with an updated machine and play Crysis 3 all over again. It's a fine theory - but we'd rather play it now. my 360 cost £150

ouch, 5-6 hours is way too short for full price for me. especially considering how long Crysis 2 was. btw, Kotaku gave this a "no buy" recommendation. too many bugs, inconsistent gameplay, and a step down from #2.

A step down from 2? What does it do, make your character reenact the Beevis and Butthead laugh every time you kill something? I have never been more bored by fighting aliens with a nano-enhanced supersuit than when I was in Crysis 2.-Autistic Angel

yeah, if I wasn't get $20 back from Amazon I'd return it, but that 20 will go towards Tomb Raider (making it $24.99), which comes out March 5th with a $5 credit alongside SimCity which also has a $20 credit, and that $25 will go towards Bioshock Infinite. it's like a series of dominos...

I'll pass on this. While I enjoyed Crysis 2 the lack of an actual boos fight at the end left me befuddled and betwixt as the end simply caught me off guard. Add to that th 5-6 hr estimated and its simply not worth my 70$ what with Tomb Raider and God of War on the horizon.

5 hour game play makes this an easy decision. I'll wait for it to ship from gamefly and save my money for gears of war and Bioshock next month.

played the PC version for a bit, started out with everything maxed out and it gives me 20-30 FPS according to FRAPS. damn this game is pretty, and the opening scene during a rainstorm on the docks really looks nice. the bow feels overpowered so far, I go9t a feeling that will change though.
I may give MP a shot later; I didn't touch it for C2 so I'm not sure what to expect.

I got this free as part of a video card purchase. Which is nice since I didn't pickup the video card for Crysis, but it makes a nice demonstration game.
I dropped down to medium graphics settings after trying out Very High, I've really started to like playing games at 60FPS, and at medium settings, the game still looks very good.
As for the gameplay, I'd recommend playing on Veteran difficulty unless you're not good at shooters at all. Mainly because the suit abilities can make things incredibly easy.
Overall, I'm enjoying the game, but only because I didn't pay $60 for it. I actually prefer my shooters more like Halo, more interesting enemy AI, more interesting encounter setups, and less active use of the power armor.
Honestly, can't wait for the next generation of games where the developers don't have to limit themselves to 512mb so much.
