didn't see a thread on this, which seemed odd, but here we go: the latest bit of news on this one is that it is now PS3 only in Japan after they cancel the 360 version there. not really surprising considering how limited the 360 audience is over there.

I think we were discussing it in the thread where it was first a 'countdown to the announcement' thread,i am on my 360 at the moment so can't be arsed looking for it but it doesn't matter anyway a new thread wont hurt Surprised how little i have heard of this recently TBH,but not surprised on the no 360 Japanese version,i read the PS2 outsold it there last week...hopefully MS have a plan for next gen not even sure i want this game, when it was supposed to be canon set inbetween MGS2 amd MGS4 on how Raiden became how he is and all that biz about getting Sunny from The Patriots sounded great, but since the restart and it now not being canon...i am not sure i am interested now

The demo for this is out and it's a lot of fun. This was off my radar but I'm going to check it out now!

I played the demo earlier this afternoon and thought it was pretty cool. It's definitely an action/fighting game instead of stealth, but it does have a MGS vibe and might turn out to be a pretty cool game. I'm definitely more optimistic after playing the demo that it could be a worthy addition to one of my favorite game series of all time. I guess we'll know soon enough...

I'll be amazed if this game couldn't be had for $30 within the next next four weeks. That isn't a commentary on the quality of the game, but with an average completion time of about 4-5 hours, Revengeance seems like the ideal game for near-immediate GameStop trade-ins and GameFly rentals. Retailers who stocked up on the promise of flashy trailers and a big name franchise are going to be slashing their prices pretty early, I bet. -Autistic Angel

I wasn't too hot on the demo and the final product seems like it'll be a perfect rental.

This game just oozes Metal Gear style. The camera can get wonky sometimes, esp if you lock onto an enemy and they are moving in the air. The slicing gameplay is really fun and it really feels like you are this crazy cyborg ninja once you get it down.

WTF Microsoft? Pre-order bonus from Gamestop is still non-redeemable for 360 owners.

I'll echo the camera complaint, but the game is so fun I am living with it.

I saw a quick look on this, and wow, I want it. However, definitely not paying the full $60 since it's still an action game. I don't mind short games, but not quite this one.

I'm curious why the 360 version of this game is ranking much better than the PS3 version? It's common for the same game on the 2 platforms to be a few percentiles apart, but on gamerankings the 360 edition is ranking 5% better than the PS3 with a similar number of reviews - that's quite a spread. Anyone know what the explanation for that is? I'd like to get this for my nephew who's a big fan and has both systems, but I want to get the best version.

I guess I would put 5% within the range of "a few percentiles apart". They're 3 points apart on Metacritic, and that seems normal to me with different number of reviews and sources.

While the PS3 version has vastly improved cinematics (due to the Blu Ray vs DVD thing), the 360 has better frame rate performance, supposedly. I can't say I saw this mentioned in the reviews, though.
Eurogamer did a whole write up on it.

I think the $10-$15 savings you can find through Amazon is the most substantial deal I've seen on this game since release. By comparison, Crysis 3 which launched the same day and has all the standard multiplayer hooks, can be had on any platform for half-price through Origin right now. I'm not surprised about that turnaround at all, but the fact that Revengeance hasn't deigned to join it -- yeah, that's kind of amazing to me.
