Amazon lists it as 256 pages, which is less that Arkham City which is listed as 352 pages. that said, 256 pages seems kinda small for how big this game is supposed to be, so that may be wrong.

Loved the demo but it's literally 10 minutes long. Gonna be a long wait for the release.

loved the demo, too short though. I spent more time in the character/pawn creator than I did the two missions, plus the griffin fight ended mid battle.

huh,i was able to kill it,you got some certificate or something in the top left hand corner when it died, and then the demo ended,i wonder if its a timed demo then I wish everyone wouldn't speak at the same time, and the pawns or companions in the first mission got in my way a lot when walking through the ruins,i hope that wont be happening a lot

I had to exit and turn off their subtitles it was so annoying. also turned off the control prompts that were in the right hand corner since they were making the screen a bit too crowded.

I'm glad you're able to customize the UI. The default is far too busy. The 22nd can't get here quick enough. I want this game!

A few reviews GameInfomer-8.5Dragon’s Dogma is an unconventional game for Capcom, and action/RPGs in general. Combat feels like a necessary part of the game’s design, rather than something that was begrudgingly added to provide interaction between cutscenes. I left the game feeling that I made my mark on Gransys the way I chose to, instead of being escorted from plot point to plot point. When you’re talking about an open-world game, I can’t think of higher praise. CVG-8.5This makes Dragon's Dogma one of the most hardcore, rewarding, and authentic role-playing experiences on consoles. But the difficulty can be obstructive at times, and we found ourselves regularly quitting in frustration. OXMUK-8The open world in Dragon's Dogma isn't all that varied, but the consistent style gives it a real sense of place, and the meticulous attention to detail brings the world to life. Mostly. The weak spot is the hub city: out in the wild, it's memorable and exciting, but the city feels like an empty shell. It's a problem made worse by technical glitches which mean enemies and characters take too long to load and pop in a few seconds later than they should. Capcom says, plausibly, that installing the game to the hard drive will reduce this - but we couldn't test it on our review version. OPMUK-8If you were in a bad mood, you could hang Dragon’s Dogma out to dry for its clumsy camera and controls, simplistic warrior-rogue-mage class choice, shallow combat and bad dialogue (which frequently misuses the words ere, e’er, aught, ought, ill, and so on.) But it’s hard to be in a bad mood while playing such a brave, sprawling, original take on role-playing. Accept its failings and you get to enjoy its beautifully esoteric successes

If you could have gotten Dragon's Dogma released four days earlier but it would have delayed the release of Diablo III by the same amount of time, would you have done it? -Autistic Angel

It might be single player, but it really seems to ooze fun from the very short demo and the videos. But aren't all three of you having fun with Diablo III while you wait for Dragon's Dogma to come out? That's a whole week of zany co-op fun that would have been spread a lot more thinly if both RPGs had come out within a day of each other. Besides, as promising as Dragons Dogma looks, as positive as the reviews have been, it's still something of an unknown quantity. What happens if you discover it just isn't your thing? Look at Xenoblade Chronicles: that *should* be the Gratchiest thing since Mech Lords, yet fifty hours in he's barely willing to skip a day of work to play it. Imagine how much worse he'd feel if his time with that game came at the expense of...I don't know, Grand Knights History getting cancelled. He'd probably be out sawing off his own thumbs right now. What was my point? Oh yeah: so is one version supposed to be better than the other or what? -Autistic Angel

lol aa i love your posts - to this day i still chuckle whenever i think "i am alex mercer" (which, oddly enough, happens less often than youd think)
and ill be nabbing this, but probably later in the week. i had a particularly lucky occurrence last week when someone turned in a used copy of game of thrones. knowing i wanted dragons dogma, and was tempted by got but scared to truly "take the plunge" this was a perfect opportunity; the only downside being id be milking the full week of "game" gaming if i liked it - which i do!
so make sure you all level up some pawns for me in the meantime!

so is one version supposed to be better than the other or what?
IGN had this to say - Big fights cause slowdown that can freeze the screen for seconds at a time on the Xbox 360 version. Dragon’s Dogma runs much better on the PlayStation 3 than on the 360, with a smoother frame rate and fewer streaming problems; if the 360 version is your only choice, a hard disk install is mandatory to make the game playable.

Even with the game installed to the HD, the difference between the two versions is noticeable if I understood the reviewer correctly (in the comments section below the review).

I love achievements so much(and don't care about trophies) that I will still get the 360 version and endure the stuttering. That's probably kind of sad, but there it is.

360 version for me! I've heard from people that have it already that the 360 version actually runs better and that IGN is completely wrong. They say the Ps3 version has less pop up....but the 360 version has a better framerate, more foliage and better shadows. IGN is the only reviewer that has said anything about the framerate being horrible on the 360...which is odd. In fact on the demo it was the opposite from what the are saying. The Ps3 version ran worse.

I just got this page tweeted to me,a competition to win DLC for the game(er...when is this game out again?) I had to widen my eyes when i read this part This DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT (Estimated Retail Value $7) will include 100 additional quests to be played in Dragon’s Dogma outside the main story. Germany, because of their strict censorship, will not be getting the Resident Evil Demo with copies of DD,instead they get these 100 addition quests with their copies Fuck Resi 6 demo,i would rather have these 100 quests

I was actually researching this last night, and that's what I kept seeing, too. One site did some comparison testing and came up with these results: 360 Avg:28.014fps Min-Max:23.0-30.0fps Tear:27.391%(27.391%) PS3 Avg:23.512fps Min-Max:18.0-30.5fps Tear:0.000%(0.000%) People are thinking that the IGN guy didn't install the 360 version to the HDD while the PS3 requires an install. OTOH, one reviewer posted that he has been playing for 40+ hours on the 360 without an install and still hasn't noticed what the IGN guy was talking about. I'm assuming Digital Foundry is going to post something.

Nice review, agree with most of his opinions about the game. The best feature for me so far is the visceral combat. After playing this game for a few hours now, and having previously played Dark Souls, it will be very hard to play anothe RPG with mundane combat.

I was wondering how close the combat was to Dark Souls. If it has a good combat system, I'm in.

Nice review, agree with most of his opinions about the game. The best feature for me so far is the visceral combat. After playing this game for a few hours now, and having previously played Dark Souls, it will be very hard to play anothe RPG with mundane combat. That's a good endorsement. I was wondering how close the combat was to Dark Souls. If it has a good combat system, I'm in. It's actually a very deep system. I bought the strategy guide and it explains the game's core mechanics on detail. Gender is a factor: Males are slower, women faster Size of your toon: If you max out in size, you can carry a lot of items and throw bigger monsters. However bugger characters tire twice as fast and recover stamina twice as slow. Smaller characters are the exact inverse. Almost every item you pick up can be combined. The way you play in battle will influence the way your primary pawn will evolve. There is really too much to post right now, and if you can afford to buy the strategy guide, I recommend you do it.
