Did you check your storage at the inn? My stone and outfits wherein there for a new character. The 100k rift appeared in my inventory at some point too. Not sure if they were there at first.

No ferrystone or outfits in storage (no 100k rift yet, either). frown

Thanks for the suggestion, though. I appreciate it!

i got them when i loaded up my old character,an on screen message appeared as it was loading

however,i started on my other GT,so obviously didn't get them there

If you have the old game still, fire that up,create a new character and then start up DDDA and load up the DD character you just created to get the gifts(if it works for you that is)

That's a good idea and what I should have done  Unfortunately (or fortunately for the gameplay), I'm already at level 12, so I don't want to start again.

I did get the items when I loaded my old character. They just weren't there when I started the new character.

I'm not really worried about the rift currency or the outfits, but I do wish that I had the unlimited ferrystone.

I'll just have to hope it gets patched in eventually.

as said i did not get the 'gifts'

However,i have just been to the Black Cat in my new game, and there are lots of outfits for sale that were defo not in the first game when i went to the Black Cat

Also,Ferrystones are 2000 each.....which is a lot cheaper than they were in the game when it was first released(i think they were something stupid like 200k,which incidentally is roughly the price of some of those outfits i saw..ouch!!)...sure it's not unlimited, but they are dirt cheap

as i am only at Gran Soren at the moment,i use a Ferrystone and it gives me an option to go to either Gran Soren,Cassardis or Bitterblack Isle...hopefully there will be more places to choose from as i get there and unlock them

Well I picked up the downloadable version. I skipped the first iteration of this although I enjoyed the demo. Looking forward to using your pawns once I get playing.

Very nice. I just made it to the Black Cat myself. The main reason I wanted the unlimited ferrystone was because you're right that they were incredibly expensive in the original game. At 2000, there's no great need for the unlimited one. So, while it would be nice to have the bonuses, I'm no longer pining after any of them. smile

Level 18 and counting. I'm enjoying this as much as the first time around and looking forward to the Dark Arisen content.

if I store items with 'merchants' for use later does the storage inventory follow me to other areas in the game? Or must I return to the merchant who I originally stored the items with?
I am picking up too much shit smile

it's available wherever there is a merchant that gives you access to it.  the nice thing about DD is that you don't have to run back to your storage to sell stuff; anytime you go to the sell screen the last tab will be your storage chest, and you can just sell the stuff from there.

I just found one myself. I don't remember them from the original game, either. Very cool addition to the game.

I found mine:

In the cave where you meet the object of The Cypher quest.

I'll have to head back and get the one you found, too.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Hillfigure Knoll?

I have just walked past there to take Selina to the healing ..er pond(which was tough as nails with the Direwolves),but not gone in,i am waiting until i have all my side quests done before finally talking to the Duke,so it could be some time before i go there for the main story,I may pop in and see if i can pick it up without needing to be on the quest

Just remembered that there is one to pick up during the story later on
Spoiler for Hiden:
Bluemoon Tower

EDIT:
Found this page
http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Portcrystal

and has info on Dark Arisen Port Crystals
Quote
With the Dark Arisen expansion you can place 10 port crystals whenever, instead of just NG+, and ferry stones are  only 2000, 1000 at Fournival, gold each. There are also several locations where Portcrystals can be found.
These are:

-The Everfall where the invincible Evil Eye spawns.
-Shadow Fort inside one of the prison cells.
-The back part of Witchwood near the gravestone.
-Inside the Dragonforged's dwelling.
Enhancing
1x for 3 Star Enhancement of Conqueror's Mantle.

Yes, that's the one. I won't spoiler it, since it's in the list in your Wiki quote. The one I found was in the Dragonforged's dwelling/cave.

Very nice that they have so many available. I just picked up the one in Everfall, so I have two and counting.

Now, I'm debating if I want to change my Mage to Sorceror or Mystic Knight. smile

I am wondering if there are some more out there, with the description in that quote saying you can place 10 and not just in new game + this time, there are 4 listed there, one in the story at Blue Moon Tower and one at Bitterblack Isle,so that's 6

I bought the Conquerors Mantle thinking somehow you GOT a port crystal for enhancing, then found it you needed a port crystal to enhance it,LOL...wont be doing that

Okay I'm at the point where we've all been with rpgs. I have 311k and am thinking about buying a bow for my ranger........it costs 222k from the black cat merchant pre dragon fight.
Thing is I can't figure out reliably if it'll make a difference. All I have now is a level 2 longbow. I'm only level 29.

Hate this!

I am in a similar situation,i have bought a new kickass sword from the guy at the Greatwall

However,i can not find a decent Bow,i still have a crappy one,the Black Cat bows are expensive but according to the stats are not as good as the one i have

However,it may very well be because i have still not met the Duke,I have only just been to the Nobel area of Gran Soren,it's just that i have been doing side quests and exploring the map(i am Level 34)..I am hoping the shops upgrade their crap as i progress

I believe the shops upgrade based on where you are quest-wise, and not level-wise.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you complete the game already once, MO?

sure, but that was a year ago, there are things i remember about this game but other small details still come as a surprise, helped along with the little things Capcom have put in places that weren't in the original game

It doesn't really matter about getting a better weapon anyway,I am kicking the shit out of everything outside in the field, all monsters and bandits are quite easy, uncovered all the map now(not Bitterblack Isle though)in fact it's a lot easier than i remember first time i played it and makes me wonder if Capcom have adjusted the 'Normal' difficulty setting which i have it on

It's one reason why i am now level 39 and have only just met the Duke...FWIW i was level 83 when i had finished with DD the first time around(which involved 1 playthrough and 2 speedrun playthroughs to mop up remaining achievements),way things are going i am going to breeze past level 83

(although on an afterthought,i have been doing the 'From A Different Sky' DLC missions(i am on mission 37) that i never did first time around and i believe i have done other DLC side quests that are mixed in with the regular side quests-as in they appeared on another Notice Board not the downstairs Pawn Guild Notice Board that is usually set only for DLC)

hopefully y'all see this before updating your game:

Quote
A quick public service announcement for you Dragon's Dogma and Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen players.  A number of users have encountered an unforeseen issue with a recent downloadable Title Update (patch). The TU, in some cases, has caused players' DD save data to become corrupted (cue Olra purification jokes), meaning the game will no longer save or load their game progress.

To prevent the possibility of permanent loss of your data, please copy your existing save data (whether it be DD or DDDA) to an external storage device or cloud whenever possible--especially if you are picking up the game for the first time in awhile or switching over to Dark Arisen for the first time.

If you experience repeated issues with your save data becoming corrupt, please try playing the game offline while we investigate the issue. Weíre exploring the issue currently and hope to have a solution as quickly as possible. Many apologies for the inconvenience.

Thank you CeeKay for posting that.

I was looking forward to playing DDDA this weekend, but I'll stay far away until the issue has been resolved.

Losing my current progress (level 30) would likely dampen my will to start over.

I'm just starting this game. What level of pawns should I be hiring? I'm only about level 8 but someone on my friends list has a level 24 mage. Would that make the game too easy or unbalance it? Would I not get the XP that I would otherwise?
Do we have a thread for pawns?

yeah i always get Pawns my level,I knew it was supposed to make the game easier if you got higher pawns that's why i stuck to my level and that's why i have so many RC as it costs nothing for your level,i change them when i am 5 levels above them

Griffin's are pussies, they fly near me i shoot a couple of arrows at it,get its health down a tad and then it flies off over the mountains

does anybody know the significance of the dead Griffin near to the North Bridge outside Gran Soren with the Guards there(who found it dead)...is it just for effect or is it for some quest that i am not aware of?

my first playthrough my rule of thumb was no more than 5 levels higher than my main until it got to the point where I was rolling over everything pretty much on my own, and at that point I just started grabbing random pawns from friends.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I did as well.  And don't forget that other pawns won't level up until you return them, so even while you're leveling up they will be come less powerful relative to your own strength.

I have just found this out from the Capcom forums

Remember how when you get to that Griffin mission that after that Griffin's appear in the world normally from that point?...well apparently if you go to Bitterblack Isle(Dark Arisen),the new enemies you meet will start to appear back on the mainland normally..there are also new quests in the mainland after you have done certain things on Bitterblack Isle

I was going to wait until i finished the main game before going to Bitterblack Isle, but i may go there now

the issue is for people exporting their DD save across to DDDA...i started a new game

Oh, I guess I misunderstoond CeeKay's link. I thought the files were being corrupted with a recent patch (after the initial release of DDDA).

I also started a new game with the release of DDDA, but I thought the patch last week was corrupting game files.

from the way they wrote it I think it is the patch that came out last week, it just doesn't affect everyone.

How can anyone stand being a magic user in this game???..had to change Vocations for some out of reach badges for F.A.D.S. missions, and its just so slow and garbage, can't wait to get back to being my assassin

Fun Fact-I have just found out that if you don't sell your Badge of Vows that you have been finding in the From a Different Sky DLC missions(which i haven't),when you start a new game+ and they are still in your inventory/storage,as soon as you pick up the quests from the downstairs notice board in the Pawn Guild, you will automatically complete the quest..so that could pretty much mean 100,000xp in a matter of minutes when you start a new game+

Capcom says they're still working on the fix.  from reading the rest of that thread it sounds like some people lost A LOT of game time.

I think i am going to have to change my plans for this game,i just went to Bitterblack Isle to start the Dark Arisen expansion(I am level 54..i think),and went down the path, got warned to turn back ..."yeah yeah, whatever,i can kick the shit out of anything on the mainland"

Wolves appeared, not a problem, went a bit further, got another warning..and then bam,Death appeared and made me his namesake in one swoop(in other words,he killed me)

"WTF just happened there???"

Tail between legs I run back home...so my new plan is to finish the main story and then do the expansion stuff

I have a feeling they figured most people would just jump into the expansion with the characters they had from beating the game, so that's probably your best bet.

The thing is,i am not really that far from the end of the story if i don't piss about(I have finished From a Different Sky missions now...87 of them, the other 13 appear at a certain point nearer the end of the game)

I am currently about to do 'Honor and Treachery' mission(4th from end)..so i am guessing i may have to do the post end stuff as well
