Why do I appear to be the only person that thinks this is a silly idea?
Anyways, my problem with AC is not the gameplay which I still love after 4 games being essentially the same, it's that the larger story has progressed so slowly.

WTF DO THEY MEAN NOT ALL BRITISH ARE EVIL?!?! THOSE ACCENTS MEAN THAT THEY ARE EVIL!! THEY SOUND BRITISH!! OF COURSE THEY'RE EVIL!!
/fail
yeah some of the accents really are evil Why do I appear to be the only person that thinks this is a silly idea?

I agree and disagree,i feel its gone to fast, but progressed slowly because of Brotherhood and Revelations lingering in the same time which i can see where you are coming from with the story taking too long,so really, even though as you say its gone slow, its only been Altair and Ezio's time, and now we are here i really wanted the series to explore the rich tapestry of history to coin a phrase, some suggestions were really good Japan,Russia or 1600s England I wasn't happy with the 400 year jump from first game to second, let alone another 200+ for this one We all knew it would end up in America anyway,i just wish they would of got to other places first That was my only concern with this game, seeing the screenshots and reading the features has still made this a title to look out for though

I worry that the wilderness map will be like the hub area of the first AC. Hopefully the tree hopping will make that not so. The key to these games is to make traveling about easy and fun (something that was lost in Revelations).
Actually, there won't be guards all over the place in the treetops, so that's a step up from the last few games, there. I actually preferred the first game for above ground movement. I rarely touched the street. I felt very constricted when I suddenly had to for the second game and on.
The Arkham games get this right. You want to feel like you're above everything, both literally and figuratively.
As for the timeline, of course there's no reason they can't go back and fill in the gaps along the way, but I think they're smart to move at the pace they're choosing. It not only moves the story along, but keeps the settings fresh. Sure, there's a difference of landmarks and history and whatnot going to other eras, but it wouldn't feel that different (well, going to Japan might, I guess). This way, the overall story won't feel too padded.

COUNTDOWN! looks like something will be revealed at noon EST on Monday. yeah they said they had more to reveal on Monday 5pm UK time(as you say noon Eastern),but then GI spilled its guts with all that on the last page,so i thought it was the stuff they were going to reveal and the info either leaked or Ubisoft let it all out early so....what could it be,that they haven't already told us?,we know the location and the year and the setting we know the main character's name and background more or less,i guess we know the enemy kind of..something about Desmond perhaps? countdown happens, and the announcement is....DAY ONE DLC!!!

Actually, other games got it right way more than Batman AA or AC. Both were basically Metroid Prime. The "City" was large enough to give the illusion, but there were invisible fences that became instantly apparent. (eg: while climbing the tower near the end, try "falling off". You fall to your death instead of being able to glide down into the city).

Really? They're setting the third Assassins Creed series in the world of Jersey Shore? I know MTV has deep pockets but getting the makers of the game to move it to that arena seems a bit too much. I just don't think I'll enjoy Enzio's replacement, The Situation.

I don't think the last of the Mohican needs to be using the spring blade to be an assassin - but you will note that he's got one white bracer and one leather one, so it may be that he simply wasn't using it. I would find it refreshing to not be constantly relying on the hidden blades - boot-knives and other such hidden blades could also be used, for instance. Desmond learns the skills of weapons through the bleeding effect - him learning to wield a tomahawk in today's day and age is relevant, considering he skipped out on all of his birthrights' training (per revelations).

the 3 worst settings for AC3 suggested by the internet. "People on the internet suggest the most boring settings," Hutchinson mused when we asked him whether he'd considered certain hotly demanded alternatives. "The three most wanted are WWII, feudal Japan and Egypt. They're kind of the three worst settings for an AC game."

Watching that trailer reminds me of something that's bugged me from the previous AC games. Whenever Altair or Ezio are skulking about towns trying to blend in, I think they look suspicious as hell. If I saw any of the 3 assassins skulking about like they do with their hoodies up and faces covered in shadow (and strapped with blades, daggers, and bows) my first thought as a citizen tooling around town would be, "That guy is up to no good!" It doesn't matter if they are in the middle of a pack of thugs, maidens, or clergy, they look like they're on thier way to kill someone...which usually is the case I hope they do some cool things with the Native American lead in this one.

I haven't been following this too closely, but after reading through the thread and watching the trailers I'm now very excited for this. My biggest problem with the last few games has been the developers cramming in unnecessary "improvements". With the change of setting, the changes will make sense. If they can pull it off, this should be a lot of fun.

Gold Edition DetailsDubbed the "Gold Edition", the download includes Assassin's Creed 3, PlayStation Vita sister title Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation and, a first for the series, a Season Pass. Another version of the Gold Edition features everything but Liberation, presumably for gamers without a Vita Then there's a third version, with Liberation but without the Assassin's Creed 3 Season Pass, for those who may not want all the DLC. All versions include A Dangerous Secret, the extra mission Not sure why i am surpised about a Season Pass, don't think this will be a day one for me,I think maybe I will wait until 2013,October and November this year are already loaded with games i want

if the season pass turns out to be mainly MP DLC like it was with Revelations I'll probably skip it; MP has been included for two games so far and I have yet to really play it.

360a.orgWolf Pack Co-Op mode Unveiled Also Boston walkthru video in the link Featuring 25 increasingly challenging 'sequences' (or waves) of assassination targets, Assassin's Creed III's newly unveiled 'Wolf Pack' co-op multiplayer mode sounds like a more stabby take on the now classic and somewhat ubiquitous Horde mode, offering murderous action for up to 4 players.
Pitting you and your co-op friends against increasingly savage AI and tougher time constraints with each sequence you complete, Wolf Pack mode will drop you into a multiplayer stage, where you have to dispatch assassination targets before they escape, which should prove especially tough when decoys and lookouts start appearing in later waves... sorry, sequences.
Assassin's Creed III is out on October 30th, 2012.
