New Update!

I was surprised to see that Titanfall needed an update before a quick session this morning.

It added a new game mode! Marked for Death.  It's just what it sounds like.  1 person on each team is Marked (location shown on the map) and whoever elimates the marked target first gets a point. I only played one session, but the VO AI at one point told me I had killed so many marked targets he'd lost count (I came in first for my team).  So, yeah, I like this mode.

There are other little tweaks, too.  Some little visual things, like in the result screen.  There's a great change for burn cards, where you no longer have to hit Y to go into a menu and pick one of your three slotted cards.  All 3 cards are on screen and you just pick the appropriate button (Y, RB and LB, IIRC).

Doesn't look like it added maps, but I wasn't there for long.  There was some mention of new burn cards, though.

Anyway, this breath some life into my push or 50!

There are burn cards for Titans now, which sounds fun.  I'd love to get back into the game but I'm stalled out on a really annoying regen challenge that's deflating my interest.  I also really wish they'd hint at some new Titan types coming in the semi-near future.  New maps and game modes seem a little lackluster for paid DLC, at least for my wallet.

I think it was at the last PAX, on the panel with Major Nelson, that one of the people flat out said no when asked if they were ever going to introduce new titans.

Bummer.  Well, I guess I'll just shift my hopes and dreams over to Titanfall 2.

You never ended up buying it though, did you?  I've sunk a hefty chunk of time into it and enjoyed the ride, but I was hoping they'd add more Titans or at least new weapons as they update the game.  New game modes may excite other people, but that's not at all what I'm looking for.  The multiplayer FPS games I've sunk the most time into have just had one or two game modes that have stayed the same for the numerous years I played them.
