Yep!

Although I'm not actually that much of an anime fan, you can't deny the opportunity.

I would buy that.

Wasn't this being touted as an unofficial SHOGO anyway?  Or is that some other game I'm forgetting.

Okay, I remember loving SHOGO, really, really loving it, but I always think of Anime as those games where you play as a group of 10-12 year old kids, and I detest that. SHOGO 2 I would play the hell out of.

Putting some speculation to rest (note Yellowking, speculation and rumors are different)

PC version out the same day as Xbox, does not require Windows 8.

Not really a surprise - MS would have to have opened a few piggybanks to get EA not to put this through Origin.

8.1 is not a beast to be afraid of, IMO.

I am also using a touchscreen device on 1 of my 3 installs.

I will likely have this for Xbone before PC - Mikagami will be in, and I miss hearing him swear about cheaters. biggrin

trust me, I know about 8.1.  I just don't find the interface all that appealing now, nor back when we still called it Blue.

The preview had its problems. The fresh install I have on the Surface Pro is just fine though.

The mail client? It is both convenient and annoying. Not being able to use alias "From" on gmail is a-fricki-noying.

Well, it depends on whether you've customized it to start directly to desktop, etc.

The search / charms bar isn't being forced on you anymore. There's a start button again - and being able to resize the flippin' tiles is a breath of fresh air - also, having the "all items" directly below makes so much more sense.

If this were what was released last year, I doubt the backlash would have been the same.

Now I've got Steam, Origin and uPlay clients installed, MS's Store built-in with options for Beamdog and GMG waiting for justification to force themselves in. I'm ambivalent to the clients themselves (though Steam is pretty much on 24/7).

I need a store to manage all the stores.

I'm not sure what all of that has to do with Titanfall, but I'm kinda responsible for the derail. Tongue So yeah, Sorry.

exactly.  my thoughts on the 8.1 upgrade in a nutshell
+1 for the Start button (how they managed to agree to this in the age of remote desktop is beyond me.  trying to mouse to the corner while using a windowed remote session is a pita. )
-2 for being no more than a shortcut back to the start screen.  Seriously, not only does this not answer my (and many others') complaint about removing it, it leaves the door open for companies like Stardock to sell you a start button.   drool
+1 for the Search feature defaulting to all, instead of the back-asswards pre-sorting they did in 8.
+1 for putting all apps in their own "drawer".
-1 for not allowing you a better way to ID those apps when newly installed.
+1 to letting users change background image on start menu.  this erases the need for a third party util to do the same thing.
+1 to letting you default to the desktop mode
+1 to letting you change the snap state size of apps.
-1 Still, Stardock sells a utility that lets you run modern apps in a free-floating window.  I think this would have been a great feature to introduce.

in the end, it boils down to a few things, and while it isn't a pile like Vista is, I am perfectly content with 7 and see no need to spend the money on it.

you laugh, but on my Android tablet, I have my humble bundle app downloaded through Google Play, so it updates it automatically, which updates my humble games.  All I need is amazon to get on google play, humble to get on amazon, and then I can have an app updating an app updating an app which updates games.

I was so excited to get a Start menu back and then crushed to find out that it's just a button in the corner that does the same thing that moving your mouse to the corner did.  I have a much harder time finding any program any more.

Right-click on it.

Also, app drawer? Change the sort from name to recent.

Plus, Titanfall mechs run 8.1. It was part of the EA / MS coup de tat. All replacement parts are ordered through origin.

Titanfall multiplayer has a 6 Vs 6 limit

CVG

I am a bit disappointed with that, although you do also fight alongside AI,so that's something

Quote
Despite negative responses from some fans following this tweet, Zampella assured players that the 6v6 limitation was a decision made by the development team after substantial playtesting.

"It is incredibly fun, we did a lot of testing," he explained. "It is all about what we found most fun. There are other games with higher player counts if that's your metric."

Stressing that the decision was not based on hardware or network limitations, he added: "We had [the player count] higher at points in testing, this felt best." Zampella went on to clarify: "That's [the] humans only count. There are lots of AI, everyone can have a Titan in follow or guard mode too."

Despite what they said, hardware limitations definitely have something to do with this decision.

At the same time, this game is turning out to be quite different from what most CoD and BF4 shooter players are expecting. It has creep waves of AI running around.

This might actually make it more palatable for some, or at least more enjoyable for the kind of player who stays on the bottom of CoD scoreboards.

I'm guessing a mech game plays a bit different than a regular FPS game and you don't need as many players? Definitely disappointing but I'm sure it will still be fun. I find it hard to believe that it's hardware limitations as isn't the PC version also 6v6? Surely it isn't that much work to raise the player limit. Although I suppose it would mean making all new maps as well.
