And somewhere, deep within the bowels of Bethesda HQ, a cry rings out.  "Dance, monkey!  DANCE!"

Nah, they keep the "Dance, monkey, dance" reserved for Steve Balmer.

Hetz, I have a question for you. Since you were so heavily into the mods for Morrowind, why not wait until the PC version hits for Oblivion?

PC version for moi! That said, bless them for this! After seeing that DVD flick, my fingers've been mighty twitchy.

Also, whiteboyskim, I imagine Hetz will be buying both versions.

Then I revise my question: Why both the same day?

If I did decide to grab a 360 and Oblivion, it would because my computer really has no chance of running that game.

My plan is to get it first for the 360, since I want to see it on the 57" HD set in the living room, and because my computer won't run it nearly as well.  By the time mods for the PC version are out (which won't be for a while, folks), the price will have dropped down.

Cause well, I'm getting the Collectors Edition for the PC and the regular edition for the 360.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing, but since the Gamestop near me sucks when it comes to getting PC games I'll probably have the 360 version a whole week before the PC (if they come out the same day).

Awesome news.  I was worried I'd have my 360 with nothing to play for a couple weeks (assuming that my spot as part of EB's shipment two becomes part of shipment one as I'm sort of anticipating)

Your link got cut off a bit there. biggrin

And I just have to say this - hurrah.

EB, To the Game and other sites are showing 11/21 for the PC and 11/15 for 360.  Our release dates will adjust that.  Essentially (as the 360 dosen't come out itself until 11/22) they're coming out the same time.

Also, isn't this like the third or fourth time Oblivion's been confirmed for the 360 launch?  I swear Hetz makes a new thread with this 'news' every week.

With "this" news, no. With anything remotely related to Elder Scrolls, yes. biggrin

Nice try, LE.

But anyway...

Yay! Let the party begin! Take-Two confirms Oblivion is a launch game!

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. (TTWO.O: Quote, Profile, Research) is shooting to have five games ready for the Xbox 360 debut, a spokesman said.

Take-Two, best known for its controversial but wildly successful "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, said its launch titles are basketball game "NBA 2K6," hockey game "NHL 2K6," tennis game "Top Spin 2," snowboarding game "Amped 3" and "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," a role-playing game.
