So if you've been sitting on the fence, go get'r.

I actually enjoy the new amped despite the sometimes annoying stuff (like the stupid kitty-glitter runs)

Wow did I not enjoy this game. Apparently my days of liking snowboard racers are long gone!

Seriously? I actually own this one and while I haven't played a ton of it, it's a lot of fun. This title has a completely demented sense of humor, has these great Burnout-esque crash events where you try to damage your own body as much as possible, and the tricks are really easy to do. It also has an absolutely *phenomenal* soundtrack.

Now if you're looking for a snowboarding sim, look elsewhere.

I played Amped 1 & 2, and generally enjoyed those.  So I do understand the Amped system.  Maybe the demo isn't representative of the purchased game, but I sure felt like it was just awful.

Amped 3 is a lot more SSX-friendly than the previous games, so maybe that's what turned you off.

The game is certainly not awful.  I think it's very good, actually.  The reviews have been positive (7.8 on Gamestats [Gamerankings is down right now]).  I'm suprised at the really negative reactions.

I haven't played the demo, what do they have you doing?

A bunch of eggs are rolling down the hill.  You have to chase them down and collect them.

Just tried the demo, and yuck. Go rent Amped 3, and get past the storyline enough so that you have at least all of the first mountain available. The second mountain is MUCH steeper in areas.

Also keep in mind, you can ACTUALLY MODIFY THE TERRAIN in the game.

If you need a ramp somewhere to keep the combo going (cuz butter is better on toast) then cough up the moolah and put a ramp in. biggrin
