I think that may very well be one of the best Halo Boxarts

The 4 art isn't putting the Chief on there as prominently as the prior games.

Seems like you would want him more in focus or bigger trumpeting his return to the series.

Maybe you are really moving the series away from him again. Hmmmmm.....

While I'd never argue a picture's worth a thousand words, I don't think you can extrapolate much from boxart. To me the box cover looks more to be depicting the Chief in an in-over-your-head situation than any deemphasis of him as a main protagonist. It looks to be an alien installation -maybe Forerunner- and it seems to be coming down all around him. And that's definitely the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn ship to his right, coming in for one heckuva crash landing.   IIRC the very top of that upper structure was the last thing he saw in the initial Halo 4 teaser. I'm thinking this is the very beginning of the game and the Chief is in for a helluva ride/run. But that's just pure speculation - who really knows?

That's definitely all the Xbox covers for the series. IIRC there was different boxart for the PC version of Halo 2, but this is the console forum so who cares.

Wow a muliplayer mode that ties into a 2ndary campaign, that does sound very promising. Certainly sounds like 343 is kicking mplay up a few more notches that I originally thought.

Finally got to view the latest E3 video - wow does it ever look awesome! I love the those Forerunner adversaries/droids.  Can't wait for this game, looks like it's going to be a blast to play the SP campaign.

Multiplayer will need an 8gig Install


Fine by me as i still have 200+gig on my HDD...but i am sure this may upset some people

It's possible that the substantial Spartan Ops mode will eat up some of that 8GB, as new episodes are released frequently alongside additional maps for competitive modes. So while an 8GB install might seem like bad news, the sliver lining is that Halo 4's multiplayer is going to be absolutely ma-hoo-sive.

Halo 4 will work with Surface. 

During Venturebeat’s Gamebeat 2012, Don Matrick mentioned at a panel that Halo 4 will work with Microsoft’s Surface tablet. Don Mattrick refused to give any more information, but given that Microsoft has already shown off tech demos of Halo 4 using Smartglass. I tend to believe what Don Mattrick is teasing could be much more than mere armor swaps and stat-tracking.

If rumors and speculation hold true we could very well have Halo 4 revisiting the Windows platform. Given Apple’s firm grip on the tablet market, a killer app like Halo 4 might be the push consumers need to give the Surface a foothold to work from. Lord knows the memories of Zune remain clear in Microsoft’s headspace, perhaps this is an attempt to let that memory go to the rear-view mirror.

Halo 4's multiplayer Specilisations have been detailed by Microsoft and developer 343 Studios.


When a player achieves rank 50 as a Spartan, they'll be able to choose one of eight specialisations types - detailed below. Each comes with its own unique armour sets and mods, emblems, weapon skins and visor colours spread across ten ranks.

Once a specialisation has been selected, they must be ranked up before the player can choose to enlist in a different class.

Two specialisations - Wetwork and Pioneer - will be available to all players at launch, while the remaining six can be acquired by pre-ordering the game at Game or GameStation or by purchasing the Halo 4 Limited Edition that comes with all of them unlocked. All specializations will eventually be available for download over Xbox Live over the months following the game's launch.


The specialisations are as follow (via Halo Waypoint)
Wetwork - A stealth class that can move quickly and silently.
Pioneer - Its Fast Track armour mod allows Pioneers to gain more exp from each encounter and level up quicker.
Engineer - Its Drop Recon armour mod lets players know the location and time of ordinance drops via an external suborbital monitoring system.
Tracker - Built for long-range targeting, the Tracker's requisition armour mod allows users to recall their ordnance requests for a chance to receive better weapon drops.
Rogue - Its armour mod allows greater aiming stability when in combat.
Stalker - Its Nemesis armour mod will keep track of all enemies that have attacked or killed you, making their locations known.
Pathfinder - Decreases the time of weapon overheat when sitting in a vehicle's gunner seat and increases Spartan speed while carrying a detached turret.
Operator - The Wheelman armour mod can get extra stamina and durability out of any vehicle they're piloting.

Elsewhere, Microsoft announced that the War Game Map Pass that comes with the Limited Edition will be sold separately for 2000 Microsoft Points, roughly 15 per cent less than it would be to buy all of its components separately. It includes nine competitive multiplayer maps as well as the Spartan-IV Scanner and Strider helmets and the Falcon in-game emblem.

Looks like they're stepping it up with Halo 4 as I see they put a lot of work into character animation and expressions.

I have tried to stay away from a lot of stuff,so nothing gets spoiled for me,as i do like the Halo campaigns(although not keen on Reach one bit)

I still have to play through Halo Anniversary that i picked up last year or whenever it was released
